Incompetent ICE is full of sound and fury, signifying nothing: DHS estimates only 600,000 to be deported by the end of Trump II's first year, and even some of that is phony

They're wasting their time, energy, and taxpayer billion$ tracking down individuals when they should be cracking down on the employers, but that would take a native intelligence which Trump administration morons like Stephen Miller do not possess.

They're also alienating and energizing the opposition at the grass roots all across the country to turn out and vote against them in November 2026, which is one of the most politically stupid moves of these dunderheads to date.

It's almost like they're being paid by George Soros to do it.

Reported here:

... The Department of Homeland Security says that it has deported more than 400,000 people since Mr. Trump took office, and that it expects to deport 600,000 in total by the end of Mr. Trump’s first year in office.

Still, those numbers are slightly misleading. The Trump administration counts people who are turned back at the border and other ports of entry as “deportations,” even though they have never lived inside the United States.

Earlier this year, Stephen Miller, Mr. Trump’s deputy chief of staff, met with senior ICE leaders in Washington and discussed ways to pick up the pace of enforcement. Soon after, he appeared on Fox News and said the agency would try to hit a goal of 3,000 arrests a day.

Since the summer, the agency has typically arrested more than 1,000 people a day. ...

Three more years of 1,000 people a day would amount to just over 1 million deportees, out of 11 million or more illegals in country.

They're painting the left as terrorists for a reason, but they don't have the courage to name them . . . yet

Designated terror organizations can be legally attacked using the US military. They'll do the designating, and then they'll do the attacking.

That's why they are doing this.

That's why they are fascists.

Stop Left-Wing Terror Networks and Their Funding

Tuesday, September 16, 2025

Do you not see what's happening here? The Trump administration is declaring everything it doesn't like to be terrorism in order to justify autocratic repression of it using the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force

The run of the mill narco smugglers from Venezuela suddenly are terrorists under Trump, so they blow them up.

Suddenly the left wing Charlie Kirk critics are being transformed into terrorists, too, so they say they will also destroy them.

Who's next? Where will it end?

J. D. Vance once wanted to stop this underlying basis for neo-con adventurism. Now the chameleon is part of its expansion to include unconstitutional domestic repression.

These people must be stopped.

Like the soul of the tyrant himself, Trump's administration is beset with fear and is full of convulsions and distractions, including on immigration enforcement, reversing last week's pause on deportations

All his life long he is beset with fear and is full of convulsions, and distractions, even as the State which he resembles.

TACO Trump chickens out on more than just tariffs, calls off the ICE raids on agriculture, restaurant, and hotel jobs to quell heartland rebellion

Stephen Miller most hurt.

On Wednesday morning, President Trump took a call from Brooke Rollins, his secretary of agriculture, who relayed a growing sense of alarm from the heartland.

Farmers and agriculture groups, she said, were increasingly uneasy about his immigration crackdown. Federal agents had begun to aggressively target work sites in recent weeks, with the goal of sharply bolstering the number of arrests and deportations of undocumented immigrants. ...

Inside the West Wing, top White House officials were caught off guard — and furious at Ms. Rollins. ...

But the decision had been made. Later on Thursday, a senior official with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Tatum King, sent an email to regional leaders at the agency informing them of new guidance. Agents were to “hold on all work site enforcement investigations/operations on agriculture (including aquaculture and meat packing plants), restaurants and operating hotels.” ...

Observe again how quickly Trump is to turn on a dime. The policy changed in less than 48 hours. The last person he talked to can be the most influential, which is not what you want from the leader of the free world. Sometimes he stumbles into the right decision, to be sure, but he can always stumble the wrong way. The tyrant's soul resembles the state which he rules, full of chaos and conflicting desires which he is utterly unable to satisfy.

What they lack in intelligence they make up for in bad manners

... Trump claimed at the White House that lowering rates by 2 percentage points would save the U.S. $600 billion per year, “but we can’t get this guy to do it.” “We’re going to spend $600 billion a year, $600 billion because of one numbskull that sits here [and says] ‘I don’t see enough reason to cut the rates now,’” Trump said. ...

Trump’s insult came hours after the Labor Department reported that U.S. producer prices rose less in May than some economists anticipated. ...

... “I’ve just been told that I’ve been uninvited from the picnic; I think I’m the first senator in the history of the United States to be uninvited to the White House picnic,” Paul told reporters. “The White House is owned by the taxpayers, we are all members of it, every Democrat will be invited, every Republican will be invited, but I will be the only one disallowed to come on the grounds of the White House.” ...

The White House's Stephen Miller attacks libertarians for opposing the reconciliation bill's immigration enforcement spending

... the White House deputy chief of staff — and chief architect of Trump’s immigration agenda — is taking a sledgehammer to what remains of the libertarian-conservative fusionism that was prominent in the party pre-Trump.

“The libertarians in the House and Senate trying to take down this bill — they’re not stupid. They just don’t care,” Miller said in an interview with conservative activist and commentator Charlie Kirk last week.

“Immigration has never mattered to them; it will never matter to them. Deportations have never mattered to them; it will never matter to them. You will never live a day in your life where a libertarian cares as much about immigration and sovereignty as they do about the Congressional Budget Office.” ...

Miller’s aversion to libertarians, though, seems to go deeper than opportunistic messaging for the bill. He posted in 2022 that the uprising of the ideology in the House GOP is “how we ended up with open borders globalist [Paul] Ryan.” He blamed libertarian candidates for siphoning votes away from failed Trump-endorsed candidates in 2022 — Herschel Walker in Georgia, Blake Masters in Arizona, and Don Bolduc in New Hampshire.

“Another example of how libertarians ruin everything,” Miller said in one post responding to a 2022 Georgia Senate poll. ...

More.

The CBS Poll referenced in the story indicates 55% like Trump's deportation goals but 56% dislike his approach.

Polling on the reconciliation bill indicates most think it will help the wealthy and hurt poor and middle class people, with a third admitting they have no idea what's in the bill. Well, neither did many in the US House who voted for the damn thing.

This points up the political danger of these Christmas Tree bills adorned with something for everyone. They're too complicated to understand and therefore capture little enthusiasm. But Stephen Miller fancifully thinks otherwise:

“By including the immigration language with the tax cuts with the welfare reform, it creates a coalition. Politics is all about coalitions,” Miller said in the interview with Kirk — also praising Trump in the interview as “able to create a winning formula for populist, nationalist, conservative government.”

But not libertarian government.

Words have a meaning, and a Biden invitation to come was not an invasion

I don't care how wrong Biden was, and neither should the courts.

The Supremes have already ruled the illegals have habeas rights, and this would be a desperate attempt to get around that.

Are they daring the Supremes to rule against them yet again?

... Miller’s use of the word “invasion” reflects the Trump administration’s argument that the U.S. faces an “invasion” of undocumented migrants. ...

The economy under Biden was a catastrophe now requiring draconian tariffs, just like we're being invaded by Venezuelan gangs everywhere requiring extraordinary measures which violate due process of law

Everything is either awesome or awful, Republican or Democrat, white or black in our hysterical country.

The economy went from being enviable by others in the world in October to a catastrophe just like that in January.

And now it really might become a catastrophe but you'll hear only that it's AWESOME.

Can wage and price controls be far behind?

The idea that Trump is going to get personnel right in a second term, and on a massive scale, is just preposterous

Axios reports, in laborious detail, here.

The grifters are lining up from sea to shining sea, including Demented Jim, and Trump retreads Stephen Miller, Mark Meadows, and Michael Rigas who didn't get it right the first time.

Who the hell wants to go to work for just four years for a lame duck?

These people think we are fools.

Anita Kumar for The News & Observer never once mentions DACA is illegal while bashing Stephen Miller

Open borders Republicans along with Democrats like Dick Durbin are trying to make Stephen Miller the problem when Obama's illegal executive order on immigration is the real offense against the rule of law. Meanwhile feckless members of Congress from both parties would be delighted to have President Trump take all the political heat for a deal SO THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO.

Anita Kumar is their useful idiot Swamp Thing in the press, here.

Kumar is a former WaPo reporter.
