Jay Powell is a bitter disappointment, pledging today to moderate rate hikes when he's hardly begun to fight inflation after waiting a year to start

Jay Powell is such a clown:

". . . it makes sense to moderate the pace of our rate increases as we approach the level of restraint that will be sufficient to bring inflation down,” he added. “The time for moderating the pace of rate increases may come as soon as the December meeting.”

Story.

Making sure his pals profit under the umbrella of inflationary pressures is worse than insider trading, because we all pay.

We're the marks!

I haven't been this disappointed in a federal official since Donald Trump betrayed his immigration promises in 2017-2018.

And how did stocks respond?

Four true words

 Trump lacked the discipline.

Stated here.

That's still the fundamental problem, but that's been the case from the beginning.

Character counts. Trump has never had it and never will. I cut my losses with Trump in 2018 when he exposed himself as a phony on his chief plank, illegal immigration. He already did that in August 2016, so fool me once, shame on Trump. I am not ashamed to state it over and over again.

The rest of the party still hasn't come around, however, with so-called conservatives still yammering on about stuff like pOPuLiSm. But that's because opposition to illegal immigration was never a GOP value. The GOP would never be upset because he lied about that.

It's hard to imagine the GOP pointing to anything in particular which was a line too far. 121 voted in the House to object to the 2020 Arizona vote, 138 to the Pennsylvania vote. Not even three horrible elections in a row is proving to be decisive.

Meanwhile Democrats have exploited Trump's weakness, and therefore the GOP's, to consolidate power with extraordinary new depth. The new regime of mail-in voting everywhere changes everything. The chain of custody of ballots in voting precincts is broken forever.

It's the end run around representative government we only imagined the National Popular Vote Compact would be. It's the path to pure democracy. It's the end of legislatures, the end of republicanism, and makes the tyranny of the majority and the repression of the minority the new, terrible future.

A Supreme Court in principle deferring to the states on everything from election law to drugs, marriage, abortion, gender, etc. is no bulwark against what's coming, indeed, what's already here.

The people will decide by referendum.

The people be damned.

Michigan House, Senate, Governor's mansion, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Supreme Court all under Democrat control for first time since 1980s

This is what happens when you get 1.8 million votes by mail: a record turnout to surpass the 2018 record turnout.

For the first time in four decades, Democrats are waking up to a state in which their party controls the House and Senate – a feat not done since the early 1980s.

More.

It takes a special kind of stupid Republicanism to screw things up this bad: libertarian Republicanism, for which Michigan is famous.

The key: legislation by referendum of the people instead of by representative government; which yielded 1) easy voting by mail, instead of on election day, for which libertarians are all-in, as they are for abortion, immigration, and free-trade, same as Democrats; and 2) "nonpartisan" redistricting.

Michigan was never a conservative state, and is finished as a Republican state.

Michigan has been irretrievably Californicated in the span of four years.

Under Joe Biden and the Democrats, border encounters are soaring since 2019 because illegal immigrants know they will likely be released into the US

Encounters have exploded by 2.4 times under Biden.

It is estimated that well over 1 million of these illegal immigrants have simply been released into the US by the Biden administration using phony interpretations of immigration law.

This does not count the illegal immigrants who have snuck in because they were missed by the border authorities overwhelmed by the consequences of the Biden administration's lax border policies.

Once again, it was the idiot liberal Republican George H. W. Bush who advanced the anti-capitalist Democrat global warming agenda

. . . the Inflation Reduction Act was signed by President Biden earlier this summer. It had been thirty years and sixty-five days since President George H.W. Bush signed the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Rio de Janeiro.

Here.

George also spawned the redundant hate crime legislation, huge increases to LEGAL immigration, wheel-chair access at every intersection's crosswalk among other expensive accommodations for the ambulatory handicapped, who in 2016 are fewer than 7% of the population, an unchastened Saddam Hussein, and READ MY LIPS . . . NEW TAXES.

Oh yeah. He also literally spawned the guy who didn't keep America safe on 911 and gave us the expensive nation-building wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the insidious Patriot Act, but don't get me started.

Everything BUSH has been terrible for America, which is saying a lot when everything Democrat always is anyway.

Ann Coulter goes off the rails, blames the Tea Party for Obamacare

She forgets that Obamacare was passed in March 2010, months before the "Tea Party" swept the US House in an historic win with the help of Freedom Works & Co.

. . . the Tea Party candidates lost us a lot of races and Senate seats. We would not have Obamacare if it weren't for a lot of the Tea Party candidates running against incumbent candidates.

Here.

Hello. Republicans won the US House in 2010, and the US Senate in 2014, the year Obamacare went live.

Methinks Ann is jealous that Republicans actually won that 2010 election because of indignation over mortgage bailouts instead of over something else. The Tea Party's origin was in 2009 after all, not 2010.

Recall that Rush Limbaugh blamed the faceless conservative "base", too, when McCain lost. But Ann names names, calling out Trump himself over and over (he has deserved it), Mitch McConnell (perennially), and now the Tea Party. Yeah, the Tea Party got co-opted for sure, but she's rewriting history here because she's pissed so many Trump aligned candidates have won their primaries, believing (hoping?) they will lose in November, you know, like they "lost" in 2010.

Well I sure hope so.

Ann spent years saying Obamacare was the number one issue before coming to prioritize immigration, maintaining as she did that illegal aliens were the number one beneficiaries of Obamacare. Now she blames everyone else for saying so, too.

Her irrational outbursts and ad hominem arguments are her own best case for repeal of the 19th Amendment.

Make up your mind, woman.

Italy has another opportunity to vote for someone who wants to end the immigration emergency: Giorgia Meloni of The Brothers of Italy Party

Giorgia Meloni, leading the race to become Italy's next prime minister, was accused on Monday of shameful electioneering by her rivals after posting a video of a Ukrainian woman being raped by a migrant in an Italian city. ...

Meloni, whose Brothers of Italy party heads the polls ahead of a Sept. 25 national election, tweeted the video, which had been posted on a newspaper website with the image blurred but the woman's cries clearly audible.

"One cannot remain silent in the face of this atrocious episode of sexual violence against a Ukrainian woman carried out in daytime in Piacenza by an asylum seeker," Meloni wrote.

"A hug to this woman. I will do everything I can to restore security to our cities."

Illegal alien arrested in rape of 10-year old in Ohio: Perverse newspaper calls him "Columbus Man"

A Columbus man has been charged with impregnating a 10-year-old Ohio girl, whose travel to Indiana to seek an abortion led to international attention following the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v Wade and activation of Ohio's abortion law.

Gerson Fuentes, 27, whose last known address was an apartment on Columbus' Northwest Side, was arrested Tuesday after police say he confessed to raping the child on at least two occasions. He's since been charged with rape, a felony of the first degree in Ohio. ... believed to be undocumented ...

On Wednesday, once news of the arraignment of the Columbus man accused in the child's rape came, Yost issued a single sentence statement:

"We rejoice anytime a child rapist is taken off the streets." ...

Assistant Franklin County Prosecutor Dan Meyer requested Fuentes be held without bond. He said Fuentes is not believed to be in the country legally...

... the Franklin County Public Defender’s office, said it was unconstitutional to hold Fuentes without bond, especially with DNA confirmation of the pregnancy’s father still pending. He said Fuentes had lived in Columbus for the last seven years and had a steady job at a café.

More.

This perverse newspaper has plenty of data about abortions in Ohio in children 15 or younger for 2016-2020, averaging 61 per year, but NOTHING about where the perps come from and how many child sex crimes they commit, except for little old "Columbus Man".

Meanwhile in North Carolina, the absolute SCOURGE of child rape by illegal aliens is so bad there's a LIST detailing HUNDREDS of illegal alien perps charged with THOUSANDS of child sex crimes going back all the way to 2009.

But our perverse media want this to be about children's need for abortions.

Sickos, all of 'em.

Ann Coulter has been right about this since 2015:

There’s a cultural acceptance of child rape in Latino culture that doesn’t exist in even the most dysfunctional American ghettos. When it comes to child rape, the whole family gets involved. ...

Far from “I am woman, hear me roar,” these are cultures where women help the men rape kids. ...

In some immigrant enclaves, the police have simply given up on pursuing statutory rape cases with Hispanic victims. They say that after being notified by hospital administrators that a 12-year-old has given birth and the father is in his 30s, they’ll show up at the girl’s house — and be greeted by her parents calling the pregnancy a “blessing.”

And yet, in the entire American media, there have been more stories about a rape by Duke lacrosse players that didn’t happen than about the slew of child rapes by Hispanics that did because Democrats want the votes and businesses want the cheap labor. No wonder they hate Trump.

The free-trade, open borders, pro-China Michigan Chamber of Commerce endorses Republicans Meijer, Moolenaar, and Huizenga, among others

In Michigan, your choices come down to progressive lunatics who think men can become pregnant, or libertarian lunatics who piss down your back and tell you it's rainin'.
