Breaking: Ozzy Osbourne moving back to safer, stabbing-epidemic-plagued England

Ozzy Osbourne moving back to England, doesn't want to 'die in crazy America'...

Meanwhile in England:

Last summer saw London’s worst period on record for violence, with knife-related attacks consisting of a large proportion of the horrific acts carried out in the capital. According to Metropolitan Police figures, there were 134 murders last year, 85 of which involved a knife (around 63 percent). ...

ONS data shows that in the first three months of the year, assaults involving an injury or an intent to harm actually increased to 120 percent of what they were at the same time last year (965 to 806). Attempted murders went down marginally from 13 to 11.

But threats to kill also increased from 175 to 226 when comparing the two periods. In the first half of 2022, 1,223 people in London were caught with a blade, compared to 1,415 in January to June last year – a reduction of just 14 percent. ...

One deterrent that has often been cited is 'stop and search,' . . . But it is an area that has “always been really difficult”, Mr Hedges said, toeing a fine line between law enforcement and racial profiling.

Hm, you don't say.

Australians lose their minds, news stories can't make up theirs about meaning of election

CNN: It was a stop global warming election.

The UK Express: It was a republican election to throw off the monarchy and give Australia's 2% indigenous population representation in parliament.

AP Obama: There was no clear majority as votes for "fringe parties and independents ... increases the likelihood of a hung parliament and a minority government." Counting may take another two weeks.
The Sydney Morning Herald: Labor is 4 seats short of a majority with 14 seats still to call, only 71% counted.

Absence of non-East Asian coronavirus fatalities so far makes some wonder if there ever will be any

There are considerations other than genetic racial predisposition or vulnerability to infection, however.

As the Chinese are now reporting, the coronavirus infection affects older men much more than women. In the initial phase of infection in Wuhan, for example, 68% of patients were men. Strikingly, as recently as 2015, 68% of Chinese men were said to smoke cigarettes, making them predisposed to infection because of impaired lung health.

Still, no death so far has involved someone without East Asian ancestry, which may indicate, as with the SARS coronavirus epidemic in 2002-2004, that fear of a global pandemic resulting in millions of deaths may not be reasonable and that this may remain an East Asian epidemic. It could be that just as sub-Saharan Africa is responsible for 80% of genetic sickle cell disease China may be prone to respiratory disease for some as yet unknown genetic reason.

John Cleese's three words to sum up why England had to Brexit: Jean-Claude Juncker

John Cleese defiant as he says ‘London ISN’T an English city’, sparking Twitter storm:

The Fawlty Towers star has openly supported Brexit and previously referred to the country’s debate as “one of the most depressing things about this country”. ...

John also previously insisted he doesn’t believe Brexit is a “mistake”. He told the Radio Times: “I’m rather delighted that all these forecasts of doom and destruction have turned out, at this point, not to have been real.” And elaborating on his reasons why he voted Leave, he added: “I don’t want to be ruled by Brussels bureaucrats who want to create a super state. “I was pro-Brexit for that reason. “If I had three words to sum up why we had to get out of Europe, they would be: Jean-Claude Juncker.”

South Africa racks up two quarters in a row of negative GDP growth under land-grabber Cyril Ramaphosa, new president since February

Ramaphosa's domestic policy is centered around "land reform", i.e. seizing land without compensation. Apparently production is already suffering because farmers are convinced there's no point to going on any longer.

A RECORD number of white South African farmers have put their land up for sale amid fears the ruling party is considering confiscating properties bigger than 25,000 acres.

Omri van Zyl, head of the Agri SA union, which represents mainly white commercial farmers, said: “The mood among our members is very solemn. They are confused about the lack of any apparent strategy from the government and many are panicking. So many farms are up for sale, more than we’ve ever had, but no one is buying.” ... Agri SA said about 20 per cent of South Africa’s farms produce 80 per cent of the food that feeds millions of people in southern Africa, and many of those properties would be affected by a 25,000-acre cap.

Rank and file British coppers say Trump's right, say places in London, Birmingham, Preston, Yorkshire, and the Midlands generally are no-go areas

The Daily Express reports, here:

Serving officers in terrorist hotspots including London and Birmingham said that forces are becoming increasingly nervy over the rising threat of Islamic State (ISIS) inspired attacks, with some telling staff not to wear their uniforms in their OWN patrol cars. ... [F]ear of Islamist extremism within Britain’s police is widespread despite the protestations of the authorities. ... [An] officer with Lancashire police said that officers have to “contact local community leaders to get their permission” before they are allowed to patrol in Muslim areas of Preston. And a policeman posted in Yorkshire said police top brass were so afraid of potential terrorist attacks he had been ordered not to wear police uniform in his own patrol car. ... Meanwhile in an interview last year Tom Winsor, Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Constabulary, warned that there are “cities in the Midlands where the police never go” because local communities refuse to engage with law enforcement.
