Michael Savage, crackpot: Emphasizes "wildlife and the earth" at dinner with President Trump
Recounted here.
Trump got elected on the issue of illegal immigration. There has been no progress on the wall in a year, and Savage decides to use his valuable meeting time with Trump to talk about . . . environmentalism. As if environmentalism will be important politically in the midterms.
What a nitwit.
We're being overrun and Savage decides to get all wet.
We're doomed I tell you.

Trump is scrambling to deal with a not physically fit Navy he inherited from Obama
From the story here:
The Navy will grant a clean slate to nearly 50,000 sailors with fitness failures in their records, part of new shakeup for fleet-wide fitness rules announced Thursday.
A new Navy-wide message instructs commands to immediately stop discharging sailors for fitness failures and to cancel any pending discharges for sailors slated to be kicked out after March 31. The change applies to both enlisted and officers.
The message also unveils a new set of rules for the Physical Fitness Assessment, bringing to an end the rules forcing sailors to leave the Navy if they failed two fitness assessment tests in a three-year period. ...
The new Physical Fitness Assessment rules are part of a broader effort to keep more sailors in uniform at a time when the Navy is trying to increase end strength by over 4,100 by the end of the current fiscal year in September 2018. ...
As of July 2017, the end of the last official PFA cycle, more than 43,000 sailors have at least one failure in the past three years; another 5,477 have at least two failures on the books, according to the chief of naval personnel.

More betrayal from Trump: Commutes sentence of the poster boy for employing illegal aliens
Trump on Wednesday commuted the sentence of kosher meat producer Sholom Rubashkin, serving 27 years on 86 counts of bank fraud and money laundering.
From the story here:
President Trump issued his first prison commutation Wednesday to a man whose business was caught employing 389 illegal immigrants in a single shift, dismaying anti-illegal immigration advocates and a former prosecutor on the case. ...
Prosecutors said at sentencing that Rubashkin was found to have "cheated a bank and others out of a staggering amount of money — more than $26 million." His conviction on 86 federal counts was upheld on appeal.

Judge Roy Moore loses US Senate bid in Alabama by 20,715 votes, 1.5 points
Judge Roy Moore joins the Todd Akin club.
Republicans got the man they really wanted, Democrat Jones, who will give them the convenient excuse they need for not passing the Trump agenda without having to vote against it.
I sincerely hope more Republicans get what they want in future. They deserve it for not delivering on The Wall, an immigration pause, and tax reform which benefits individuals instead of corporations.

Jimmy P has it right: Tax cuts never jazzed core Trump voters the way immigration restriction and The Wall did
Here for The Week:
Remember, the U.S. is in its 101st month of a steady-if-unspectacular economic expansion. The unemployment rate is low. While there are obviously millions upon millions of Americans who continue to struggle, overall the economy simply isn't the priority for voters that it is in times of real economic crisis. What's more, a failed tax cut is unlikely to derail the expansion, since expectations of a fat tax cut aren't responsible for the growing economy and rising stock market. (You can thank a global economic upturn for that.) And tax cuts — much less corporate tax cuts — weren't the motivating factor behind the Trumpopulist surge. Tax cuts never jazzed core Trump voters the way immigration restriction and The Wall did. Trump's diehard supporters won't howl over a failure to slash corporate tax rates. ... [N]o magic tax cut will turn 2 percent GDP growth into sustained 3 percent or 4 percent growth.

Germany's Merkel fails to form coalition government after AfD upset in election
From the story here:
Merkel was weakened after an election in September as voters angry with her decision in 2015 to open Germany's borders to more than a million asylum seekers punished her conservatives by voting for the Alternative for Germany (AfD) far-right party.
There is little appetite for a second vote, especially as the main parties fear that the populist AfD would win more than the almost 13 percent of votes it secured in September.

In all seriousness, Republican elimination of personal exemptions is just sleight of hand to raise your taxes
In 2017, the personal exemption is $4,050.
If your little tribe is six, mommy, daddy, and four kids, your personal exemptions add up to $24,300.
Add in the standard deduction for a married couple filing jointly of $12,700 and you are up to $37,000 shielded from taxation. (Itemize deductions instead and you might shield even more, but Republicans are proposing new limits on those, too).
The new Republican tax reform, however, eliminates the personal exemptions and caps all this at the new higher standard deduction of $24,000, thus exposing $13,000 to taxation that wouldn't have been exposed before. And you'll pay at a higher rate in the lowest bracket, too, which has been raised from 10% to 12%.
That's what's really going on here. The only way this benefits families is if those families are small. And, of course, small families implies something else: more immigration.
It's anti-American and anti-family, and in fact, it's inhumane. Taxes were always meant to be personal, and by eliminating personal exemptions for the first time in history the libertarians who wrote this bill are showing their purely materialistic hand.
You aren't a human being to them. You're merely capital.
Don't let them get away with this.

Illegal alien (?) Jesus Fabian Gonzales arrested in Sonoma county on suspicion of arson in wild fires
From the story here:
The arson suspect is Jesus Fabian Gonzales, 29, Sgt. Spencer Crum, a spokesman for the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office told CNBC. Crum described him as "a transient out of Sonoma" and said the suspect was "arrested for setting a small fire in a park in Sonoma on Sunday."
Speaking at the Tuesday afternoon press conference, Giordano said the arson suspect was seen "walking away from a small fire" and stopped by deputies. Also, the suspect allegedly had "a fire extinguisher and a lighter with him," said the sheriff.
Giordano said the suspect was asked whether he started the fire and responded that "he started the fire to warm himself up — something to that effect."

The New York Times blames France for white nationalism
Here:
France, more than any other country, has been the source of these ideas. ...
A few months later, I met the leaders of a local anti-immigration group called Retake Calais. When I asked if they wanted to see the migrants leave town, they lamented that closing the camp — which has since been bulldozed — wouldn’t help. “They’re sending them to all the little villages in France,” one of them told me. “In two years the villages will be dead.”
“It’s the great replacement,” his friend added, echoing the title of a 2010 book by the French writer Renaud Camus, which paints a dark picture of demographic conquest in the West. “They want to replace us.”

Here we go again: "City man" charged with sexual assault isn't from the city, but is rather an illegal alien charged in a previous case
TRENTON -- A city man was charged with sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl after her father discovered a stranger in bed with her in the middle of the night, police said. ... Trenton police said they charged [Edgar] Mendoza last year for peeping into a home, but the status of that case was unclear Wednesday.

We're doomed: Only 64% say stand for the National Anthem
But that 64% is treated as good news here.
It's not. 36% support for this depth of disrespect for the very symbol of the country at such a high level of the culture, if one may be forgiven for characterizing football that way, is an ominous sign of impending breakdown.
This is the consequence of unfettered immigration combined with leftward political and social drift.

Back on the 10th or so we were being told Trump was brillantly clearing the deck for tax reform
Unfortunately the empty deck got filled right back up by DACA blowback and the Graham-Cassidy Senate healthcare reform bill which is now already in trouble.
Raising the debt ceiling and signing a continuing spending resolution were mistakes. You only get just so many opportunities in four years to shape affairs as president.
Trump still doesn't understand how this works.

Trump's Christian cucks in Arizona still support him
Which explains why they have John McCain and Jeff Flake for senators, both of whom are happy about the developments.
From the story here:
“If you were to deport them, where would they go?” Hagstrom, 60, a car-warranty manager, asked on his way to a Bible-study dinner at an upscale shopping mall. “To send them across the border would be inhumane almost. There’s no life for them there.”
Yeah, and no life for the lawful immigrant waiting patiently in line, either.
Everyone must come to America, you see, because life "across the border would be inhumane almost".
The death of America, right there.
