Horsecrap from The Washington Free Beacon: "The economy is gangbusters" when it's actually underperforming the post-war by over 50%

Through 3Q2019 the US economy over the last ten years as measured by the compound annual growth rate from 3Q2009 and using the government's own gross domestic product measure known as GDPC1 is underperforming the previous 62 year period from 3Q1947 until 3Q2009 by 29.39%.

We're growing at 2.33% now vs. 3.3% then, and that calculation removes the worst of the 2008 debacle from the now column and puts it in the then column.

If we measured as we really ought to from the previous peak in 4Q2007 and included the downturn in the now column, the picture is much much worse.

To keep it simple the full 12 years from 3Q2007 through 3Q2019 (third estimate just reported) comes in at a miserable 1.67% vs. the previous 60 year period at 3.47%. In other words, this so-called gangbusters economy is really underperforming the post-war by 51.87%.

We're not even half as good as we used to be.

The only thing that is going gangbusters right now is Trump cheerleaders from Andy Puzder to Rush Limbaugh and all the usual idiots in between trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Thinking Americans are not fooled.

Hey Rush, what's undeniable is that Trump's GDP is no better than Obama's pathetic GDP

2% in 3Q2019 reported today, when Trump promised 4%, even 5%. Ain't happening. All we get is more of the same meh, 2.9% tops in 2018.

Look at that: ChickfilA suddenly advertizes on the radio, on The Rush Limbaugh Program no less, after caving to the gay mafia

Just before the top of the hour.

ChickfilA didn't need to advertize before caving to the gay mafia. Now they do.

What better place than the gay-friendly Rush Limbaugh Show?

Scott Greer is correct: Sessions endorsed Trump in February 2016 while the pack of weasels led by Rush Limbaugh was still all-in for Ted Cruz in March

Sessions' endorsement in February meant Trump had more Senate support than either Ted Cruz or Bernie Sanders at the time. With Jeb Bush throwing in the towel also in February, the entire establishment GOP was melting down so bad over Trump that many establishment Republicans saw Cruz as the only way to stop Trump and possibly throw the nomination into a brokered convention.

No one, by the way, gaslights better than they do.  It's the secret of their success.

Trump puts Limbaugh Theorem into action: It's a scandal he's not in charge of personnel in his own administration, but somehow NeverTrumpers keep getting hired to serve in it and Trump has nothing to do with it

This incompetence is the most embarrassing thing about Trump, and the most disappointing.

He still hasn't fixed this, and he never will, even if reelected.

You can't fix stupid.

Rush Limbaugh on Michael Bloomberg on China: "Nobody is this stupid to think communism is the equivalent of democratic or representative republican freedom"

Rush, winning this year's tin ear of politics award today of all days with Trump making communism acceptable and not threatening:

Now, all of this is designed to make communism acceptable. It’s all designed to make communism not be threatening. It’s all designed to advance the idea of really smart people controlling government — who are really autocrats — under the illusion that they have constituents that they have to listen to and keep happy and pleased. I think Bloomberg sounds a lot like Biden. Remember Biden said a couple of times, “Come on, man! China’s not a threat to the U.S.! Come on, man! China’s no threat!”

If it's a number and it comes out of Rush Limbaugh's mouth, it's probably wrong

Today Rush Limbaugh corrected a caller about the Summer of Love, saying it was in 1968, not 1969.

Actually it was in 1967.

Rush also said the Beatles had already broken up by the summer of 1969, the summer of Woodstock, the 50th anniversary of which is happening right this very minute.

The break-up of the Beatles actually occurred Dec 31, 1970, when the band members John, George and Ringo first publicly confirmed it. The last photo of all of them together with Paul as a band was taken August 22, 1969, just after Woodstock had ended.

I know these things because I'm younger than Rush Limbaugh. The Beatles were YUGE to my segment of the Baby Boom generation, but not to his to the same degree.

But Rush gets lots of numbers wrong, about far more consequential things than these, as my readers know.

The only ones he doesn't get wrong are the ones that go in his pocket.

Rush Limbaugh tries to sandbag his audience, claims guy FILMING himself calling Cuomo Fredo really believed his name was Fredo because Rush calls Cuomo that

If that's true, then Rush's audience is dumber than a million Fredos, which makes Rush pretty stupid for not thinking of that.

Obviously the guy didn't believe that Fredo was Cuomo's real name, otherwise filming the set up would have been completely beside the point. The point was to get the reaction on film.

Rush didn't invent the Fredo meme for Chris Cuomo. It's been out there at least since 2010 in New Yawk City, thanks to Curtis Sliwa.

Rush Limbaugh's taking credit for calling Cuomo "Fredo" in 2017, but Curtis Sliwa first made Cuomo self-aware in Jan 2010 interview

Chris Cuomo once referred to himself as ‘Fredo’ in radio interview

Not in labor force averaged a RECORD 95.86 million in the first half of 2019

Rush Limbaugh's favorite group to mock every month under Obama as "all eating but not working".

Now you never hear about them.

The biggest fraud and grifter ever to hit the big time, right behind Trump.

Rush Limbaugh gets more out of touch with every passing day: "People like their health care from their employer"

Talk about delusional.

In my household we haven't had employer provided health insurance since 2008, but recently a new employer offered us some. My jaw hit the floor when I saw the price: $2,033 per month for family coverage.

Currently I pay $532 a month for family coverage, because I have a plan grandfathered in from pre-2010, which I get to keep as long as I don't make any changes to it. The new employer's plan is almost FOUR TIMES more expensive than what I'm paying now.

Compared to what I'm being offered by an employer right now my current plan looks mahvelous, right?

Well guess what it cost just eight years ago?

$227 a month.

That's right. Despite the fact I'm not hostage to Obamacare or employer provided insurance, my premiums have still risen 134% in eight years. And it would be even worse had I not raised the deductible. Needless to say, my coverage is nearly useless for office visits and routine tests; that's all 100% out of pocket, too.

But look at the scale of what's happened. The coverage I had in 2011 now costs me about two and half times as much as it did then, but this new employer plan costs NINE TIMES as much as privately purchased coverage cost me eight years ago.

That is insane.

OBAMACARE IS A CURSE AND A BLIGHT ON THE NATION, WHETHER YOU HAVE IT OR NOT, and Rush Limbaugh is as out of his mind as the Democrat hucksters trying to sell us Medicare for All or some other bottle of government elixir when he says people like their health care from their employer. They do not. The LA Times in May:

Health insurance deductibles soar, leaving Americans with unaffordable bills:

The 2010 healthcare law — often called Obamacare — provided landmark protections to Americans once shut out of health coverage. But as Democrats and Republicans fought over the law, Altman said, neither focused on the rapid run-up in costs for people covered through work. ... Over the same time, insurance premiums also increased, rising at more than double the rate of inflation and outpacing wage gains.

Rush Limbaugh can't even get the differences between the Declaration and the Constitution right

He reveres them, just never reads them.

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness aren't in the preamble to the Constitution, not now, and not in 2009 when he first made the mistake:

We love and revere our founding documents, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.
CROWD: (louder applause)
RUSH: We believe that the preamble to the Constitution contains an inarguable truth that we are all endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights, among them life.
CROWD: (cheers and applause)
RUSH: Liberty, Freedom.
CROWD: (wild cheering and applause)
RUSH: And the pursuit of happiness.

Hey Rush, you miserable grifting idiot, tell the British enemy in 1775 that the Continental Colors flag wasn't political

First hoisted on the colonial warship ALFRED in December 1775

And, see, we don’t think the flag is political. We don’t think the flag deserves equal time to people that don’t like it. We don’t think that Betsy Ross is political. We don’t think people need or deserve equal time to respond to Betsy Ross. These are symbols of our founding and our freedom and our liberty. They’re symbols. The left has politicized them, and they’re not political. They shouldn’t be by any stretch of the imagination. So we came up with the Stand Up for Betsy Ross T-shirt for people to push back — and in under three weeks, we sold enough $27 T-shirts to be able to donate $3 million and counting.
