Looks like Chuck Grassley's efforts paid off: FBI director Wray to resign

Thank you, Chuck.

Kash Patel incoming?

Before you get your hopes up about Kash Patel's capacity to do a good job, remember Wray was also a Trump appointee to replace the fired James Comey, and he turned out arguably worse than Comey.

Robert Mueller III was appointed by George W. Bush and assumed office exactly one week before 9/11/01. Neither of them kept us safe. And then they pursued the wrong guy in the anthrax attacks.

We have more than two decades of ugly feeling about the FBI to overcome.

LOL, ex-FBI Frank Figliuzzi knows damn well Mueller never investigated "collusion" because it ain't a thing in law, but still beats that idiotic drum for the natives

It wasn't against Trump early on. It was to determine whether or not there was Russian interference with the presidential campaign. He slips into this too conveniently. "It was against Trump." Early on it was just about hey, have the Russians colluded or intervened in this campaign?

And as you accurately pointed out they did. There are two dozen Russians charged with indictments under the Mueller inquiry, six of them at least were card-carrying Russian intelligence officers from the GRU. You can't say there was no collusion found here.

Here

Frank slips from interference to collusion too conveniently.

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Goodwin: Nancy Pelosi has gone full coup coup

The speaker, who often sounds and acts as if she is cuckoo, has gone full coup coup. ... I’ve written before how her friends distinguish the speaker from her party’s far-left crazies, but that’s no longer possible. She’s one of them.

With her actions and ridiculous comparison to Nixon, she seals her fate as a rank partisan heedless of the national interest. Pelosi had another, better option.

Recall that after Dems took the House in 2018, Trump complimented her, saying, “I give her a lot of credit . . . She’s worked long and hard.”

He added: “Hopefully, we can all work together next year to continue delivering for the American people, including on economic growth, infrastructure, trade, lowering the cost of prescription drugs. These are some of things that the Democrats do want to work on, and I really believe we’ll be able to do that.”

None of that happened. Pelosi aligned her power with the resistance and rejected Trump’s offer of bipartisanship, especially on immigration, where she refused even to negotiate.

Worse, she made the fateful decision to join Schiff and others in pushing Russia, Russia, Russia. When Robert Mueller gave them nothing to work with, they instantly seized on Ukraine, which GOP Rep. Devin Nunes rightly called a “low-rent sequel.”

Yet to this day, Pelosi continues to accuse Trump of being a Russian agent, repeatedly saying recently that with him, “all roads lead to Putin.”

Full transcript of John Dowd conversation with Flynn lawyer shows Mueller report's selective quotation intended to insinuate improper behavior when there was none

“Isn’t it ironic that this man who kept indicting and prosecuting people for process crimes committed a false statement in his own report. By taking out half my words, they changed the tenor and the contents of that conversation with [Flynn lawyer] Robert Kelner,” Dowd said of former special counsel Robert Mueller in an interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity.

The Hill's John Solomon: Obama administration had January 2016 meeting in DC with Ukrainian officials to pursue Manafort

How the Obama White House engaged Ukraine to give Russia collusion narrative an early boost:

U.S. officials “kept talking about how important it was that all of our anti-corruption efforts be united,” said Andrii Telizhenko, then a political officer in the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington tasked with organizing the meeting.

Telizhenko, who no longer works for the Ukrainian Embassy, said U.S. officials volunteered during the meetings — one of which was held in the White House’s Old Executive Office Building — that they had an interest in reviving a closed investigation into payments to U.S. figures from Ukraine’s Russia-backed Party of Regions. ...

Kostiantyn Kulyk, deputy head of the Ukraine prosecutor general’s international affairs office, said that, shortly after Ukrainian authorities returned from the Washington meeting, there was a clear message about helping the Americans with the Party of the Regions case.

“Yes, there was a lot of talking about needing help and then the [Manafort] ledger just appeared in public,” he recalled.

Kulyk said Ukrainian authorities had evidence that other Western figures, such as former Obama White House counsel Gregory Craig, also received money from Yanukovych’s party. But the Americans weren’t interested: “They just discussed Manafort. This was all and only what they wanted. Nobody else.”

David French and Ben Shapiro join up in NeverTrump redux, just in time for 2020

Responding to Joe Biden's announcement of his candidacy for president, Ben Shapiro oddly saw it as an opportunity to bash President Trump yesterday, laughably resurrecting the long debunked "fine people hoax" of Charlottesville to riff on Trump's weakness for reelection in 2020.

Trump's still a racist, you see.

Shapiro might as well have been speaking as a paid member of the Biden campaign. That he wasn't speaks to an uglier animus which is willing to lie in order to smear. The goal doesn't care about the facts.

David French, meanwhile, has been in Shapiro's corner of late, defending him on Twitter against recent WaPo stories ludicrously painting Shapiro as alt-right.

Now French is out in TIME, tag-teaming with Shapiro in criticism of Trump as, you guessed it, weak:

What a cohencidence!

In French's reading, Trump is weak because the Mueller report shows him not to be the alpha male he makes himself out to be. If the voters ever find out, he's finished, you see.

Leave it to the impotence of NeverTrump to fixate on fantasies and miss the real source of Trump's 2020 vulnerability.

If the public which elected Trump realizes that the border is even more wide open than it was before he was elected, that's when Trump will be finished.

But, of course, NeverTrump is just fine with wide open borders.

The public won't be hearing that from them.
