It's still December 2015 when Donald Trump mocked Rand Paul about ISIS: “So they can kill us, but we can’t kill them?”

Paul again condemned Trump’s call to shut down parts of the Internet by arguing that to do so would violate the First Amendment, and he blasted Trump’s call to kill the families of terrorists as a violation of the Geneva Conventions.

“So when you ask yourself, whoever you are that think you’re going to support Donald Trump, think: Do you believe in the Constitution?” Paul said. “Are you going to change the Constitution?”

While Paul spoke, Trump dismissed the senator with a wave of his hand. When it was his turn to respond, Trump said: “So they can kill us, but we can’t kill them? That’s what you’re saying.”

Here.

Pompeo seat in Kansas remains Republican in special election

The Kansas City Star reports here:

[The Republican] Estes trailed Thompson early in the night, but began to pull ahead around 9 p.m. In the end, Estes prevailed with 53 percent to Thompson’s 45 percent. Libertarian candidate Chris Rockhold drew about 2 percent of the vote. ... Pompeo, a Republican who won by 31 percentage points in November, gave up his seat in the 4th Congressional District in January to serve as Trump’s director of the CIA.

Revulsion Election Update: Kansas City Star survey discovers revulsion for Hillary top reason people voted for Trump

Told ya.

Last week, I asked those who cast their vote for President Donald Trump to explain their choice in their own words. And respondents weren’t shy in the least. I was inundated with thoughtful replies — almost too many to read. It was Wednesday before I could come up for air.

It would be a serious understatement to say readers offered a wide variety of reasoning, but three general schools of thought stood out:

It’s the Clintons, stupid

Ron Gullickson put readers’ No. 1 reason most succinctly: “Let’s be clear. My vote was not a vote for Trump, but it was a vote against (Hillary) Clinton. Shame on both parties.”

Nancy McDowell wrote, “I voted for Donald Trump because I couldn’t stomach the Clintons back in the White House. ..."

Bryan Bauermeister wrote that he voted Trump “because I did not want Hillary Clinton as president of the United States. That’s what it boils down to. …"

Jan Bentley’s reasoning was varied . . . "I did not want to vote for him but the choice was horrid, so I voted against Hillary. Because I want the next Supreme Court justices to be conservatives. Because of Clinton fatigue. The Clintons are far too ethically challenged.”

Mike Henggeler . . . "So why did I want to stop the Clintons so badly? I was born in 1954, raised by staunch Democrat parents and, until a few months ago, was registered as a Democrat (now independent). The Democratic Party of today bears little resemblance to what it used to be. It doesn’t stand for anything except itself and what it thinks it needs to do to win. And right there you have the Clintons, who have shown time and again that they will say anything and steamroll anyone who gets in their way.”

Jean Atwell cited Hillary Clinton’s reaction to her husband’s affairs. “I might have considered Clinton if she hadn’t stayed with a man who publicly humiliated her and her daughter,” she wrote. “She tells women that it is all right to stay with a man if it can possibly get you further in politics.”

Trump delegate total rises to 680, which is really 692 at minimum with 12 from Missouri not yet distributed

bloomberg.com/politics
That means Trump now needs 52.2% of the remaining 1044 delegates to get to 1237. See the latest Missouri delegate story here.

A number of other delegates also are not yet distributed from races already held, among them:

Oklahoma: 3
Louisiana: 5
Mississippi: 3
Illinois: 2.

With 424 delegates, Cruz now needs almost 78% of the remaining 1044 to get to 1237.

Conservative talk radio won't tell you Cruz is finished, but he was finished already a week ago.

Trump: News cameras zoom in on rally disruptions, never pan to show the thousands supporting him

Interruptions have become so common that they fit into a part of Trump’s familiar talking points. He complains that news cameras won’t pan a venue to show the breadth of his following when he asks. But, he insists, those lenses will peer into the crowd if a protest breaks out. “The dishonest, disgusting media,” he said at The Midland. Saturday night, he pledged to press charges against anyone who disrupts his speeches. “They have to explain to Mom and Dad why they have a record!” he said. The crowd hooted in appreciation.

Good idea!
