Border Czar Kamala Harris

What a hoot, man: 46% of U.S. EV owners claimed they were likely to switch back to internal combustion engine vehicles, well above the 29% global average

In addition to the McKinsey data on current EV owners, a recent Gallup poll found fewer non-EV owners in the U.S. saying they might consider an EV purchase, down from 43% in 2023 to 35% in 2024. The percentage of American adults who do not intend to buy an EV went up from 41% to 48% year over year.

Trump says he's still against the electric car mandate, Musk says he's giving money to promote Trump, just not $45 million a month

“I have a good relationship with him, I think he’s a nice guy,” Trump said of Musk during a call-in interview on Fox News.

“Somebody told me he was going to give me 45 million [dollars] a month. I said, ‘That sounds like a lot, even for Elon, that’s a lot,’” the Republican presidential nominee said.

But Musk “never told me he was giving [$45 million],” he said.

“But he did say, ‘I strongly endorse you,’ despite the fact that I’m against the electric car mandate,” Trump said, referring to the Biden administration’s policies aimed at prioritizing electric vehicles over gas-powered vehicles. ...

But Musk, in an interview with conservative public figure Jordan Peterson, said the figure reported by the Journal was “simply not true.”

“I’m not donating $45 million a month to Trump,” Musk said in that interview, which was posted Monday on X, the social media site he owns. ...

In an X post Tuesday night, Musk wrote, “I am making some donations to America PAC, but at a much lower level.” He asserted that most Republicans align with the PAC’s key values of “supporting a meritocracy & individual freedom.”

Fetterman really knows how to troll the Hamas wing of the Democrat Party

A lot of Kamala Harris information is being scrubbed from the internet as we speak, like govtrack's 2019 assessment of her as the "most politically left compared to all Senators"

Senator John Fetterman, D-PA, wears a suit to honor Bibi Netanyahu at speech to joint session of Congress boycotted by Democrats

Wisconsin swing voters don't trust Kamala Harris because she hid the truth of Joe Biden's condition, just like she hid evidence from defense attorneys in 2010 resulting in 600+ cases tossed out

Lying by omission, a Democrat specialty.

The New York Post, August 12, 2020, here:

One of Harris’ worst scandals came in 2010 when a technician was caught skimming cocaine from a crime lab and mishandling evidence. A judge ruled her office failed to disclose that information to defense attorneys, causing more than 600 drug-related cases to get tossed out.

GM again delays EV truck plant, this time to mid-2026 after delaying it to late 2025 lol

DETROIT – General Motors said Tuesday it is again slowing its plans for all-electric vehicles by further delaying a second U.S. electric truck plant and the Buick brand’s first EV. ...

GM’s U.S. EV deliveries increased 40% during the second quarter compared with a year earlier to 21,930 units. Still, EVs made up only 3.2% of its total second-quarter U.S. sales.

Here.

And here:

Adoption of EVs, which remain costly to produce and purchase, has been slower than many expected.

Wikipedia insists Kamala Harris' father Donald Harris isn't a Marxist, based on a New York Times article which says no such thing

Wikipedia here (at least right now lol):

Harris's economic philosophy was critical of mainstream economics and questioned orthodox assumptions. He was once erroneously described as a "Marxist scholar".[15]

15. [Barry, Ellen (August 21, 2020). "Kamala Harris's father, a footnote in her speeches, is a prominent economist". The New York Times. Retrieved August 24, 2020.

Despite his low profile in the election cycle, Dr. Harris is not an obscure figure. He was the first Black scholar to receive tenure in Stanford’s economics department, and a prominent critic of mainstream economic theory from the left. The Stanford Daily, reporting in 1976, described him as a “Marxist scholar,” and said there was some opposition to granting him tenure because he was “too charismatic, a pied piper leading students astray from neo-Classical economics.”

In the 1970s "Marxians" flew under the banner of "heterodox economics" to avoid opprobrium, and were promoted by entities such as the Union for Radical Political Economics which promoted Harris at Stanford, and, um, Harris' students in 1974 sure thought he was one, lol:

The chaos and division Joe's bad debate spawned is the real force driving Democrats' headlong rush to settle for Harris and end the bad publicity of the drama

Democrats seem more intent now to cut out the drama before the convention and settle on Biden’s chosen successor, Harris. ... The DNC is still pursuing a virtual nomination of their presidential ticket ahead of the convention that begins in nearly a month, with a presidential candidate to be decided by Aug. 7.

More.

Bloomberg is reporting Kamala Harris has the nomination clinched

Kamala Harris has more than enough pledged delegates to clinch the Democratic presidential nomination, following an extraordinary two-day blitz that saw the vice president consolidate her party’s backing to challenge Donald Trump in November.

Harris sealed her status as the presumptive nominee Monday night after crossing the magic number of 1,976 pledged delegates, according to an unofficial Associated Press tally. While delegates who indicated their support are not required to back her nomination, the achievement — and lack of credible opposition — underscores the vice president’s hold on the Democratic ticket.

More.

But look at those big stretches of light blue in places like New York, Michigan, and Illinois, among others. The resistance to Kamala Harris is real, even in California.

Democrats were lied to by Biden about the necessity of a virtual roll call of delegates by Aug 7, and now that he's out Democrats are still lying about it

There is no need for a virtual roll call before the convention, unless you're trying to stop debate.

Ohio moved its deadline to Aug 23, after the Democrat convention.

This happened AT THE END OF MAY already lol.

With the passage of the Biden ballot fix in the state, the DNC plan in not necessary -- however the DNC said it is planning to move forward with its virtual roll call nomination of Biden ahead of Aug. 7, Ohio's original deadline.

Delegates to the Democratic Convention in Chicago can't speak freely in the Democrat Party for fear of being removed by the gang leaders

The fix was in already on Sunday after Biden withdrew and endorsed Kamala Harris.

All 50 state chairs of the party quickly asserted their endorsement of Harris, according to Reuters.

But the blessed GRAUNIAD found out the truth: Delegates who aren't down for the Harris Cause fear having their delegate status revoked by those state chairs.

It's a gang, not democracy.

Delegates are, by and large, local volunteers expected to spend thousands of dollars to fly to Chicago and attend the convention. It’s often viewed as a reward for activism and dedication, but it’s typically a far less consequential role than it might be next month.

One delegate who isn’t yet old enough to drink expressed his mounting anxiety about how things are unfolding and how little has been predictable.

“I’m a young, young person,” said the delegate, who requested anonymity because he feared being replaced by his state chair. “This is my first convention … And this is scary. It’s super anxiety-inducing, and crazy, and so much.”

Few people know that Kamala Harris' voting record in the US Senate "out-lefted" even Bernie Sanders

She's the most extreme left wing you can imagine.

You may rightly call her an extremist.

Did VP Harris develop a long-term strategy to stem the tide of migration?

... Harris is tasked with overseeing diplomatic efforts to deal with issues spurring migration in the Northern Triangle countries of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, as well as pressing them to strengthen enforcement on their own borders, administration officials said. She’s also tasked with developing and implementing a long-term strategy that gets at the root causes of migration from those countries. ...

For Harris, the assignment gives her the first big opportunity to step to the front of the stage on a matter of enormous consequence for the administration. As the first Black woman elected vice president, Harris arrived on the job as a trailblazer. It has remained opaque how Biden would utilize her.

Kamala Harris was given the border problem task early on, and now we have a flood of 8 million people here we didn't have before

 Mission accomplished.

He's president already

From tonight’s speech by Trump: "And to the entire world, we want our hostages back—and they better be back before I assume office, or you will be paying a very big price."

The wretched, envious Kevin Williamson drips with disdain for the kinder, gentler Kevin Williamson known as JD Vance, and for his kin

I’d been writing about lower-class, mainly white dysfunction for a few years at that point, and Vance had just published his famous book, which I had reviewed in Commentary. I admired his work tremendously—and, naturally, envied him some, too. We had a good conversation.

Watching his descent into … whatever it is he has become … has been dispiriting. ...

Vance did what poor white trash types who do not wish to remain poor white trash do: He got out, in his case by joining the Marine Corps, one of the great exemplars of American meritocracy. He went to a good state college and an Ivy League law school, he married a woman from an immigrant family with values superior to the ones exhibited by the Real Americans™ who brought him into the world, took a job that paid a lot of money, and made the kind of social and economic connections that give a man options in life.

UK climate lunatics from Just Stop Oil jailed for years for blocking traffic in four-day incident in November 2022

Five environmental activists who organised protests that brought part of the M25 to a standstill over four days have been jailed.

Forty-five Just Stop Oil protesters climbed gantries on the motorway in November 2022, forcing police to stop the traffic, in an attempt to cause gridlock across southern England.

Judge Christopher Hehir said Roger Hallam, 58, Daniel Shaw, 38, Louise Lancaster, 58, Lucia Whittaker De Abreu, 35, and Cressida Gethin, 22, had "crossed the line from concerned campaigner to fanatic".

At Southwark Crown Court, Hallam was sentenced to five years' imprisonment while the other defendants each received four-year jail terms. ...

Hallam, a veteran environmental campaigner, was described as the "ideas man" of the movement, while the judge said Shaw was "up to his neck" in the planning of the protest.

Biggest news of the day: Ford Motor bets Trump will win, scraps $1.3 billion investment in Canadian EV HUB, plans $3 billion Super Duty gasoline and diesel engine truck plant instead lol

Ford to spend $3 billion to expand large truck production to a plant previously set for EVs

UBS’ Joseph Spak was among the analysts to applaud the additional investment in the highly profitable Super Duty models compared to money-losing EVs amid slower-than-expected adoption of electric cars and trucks.

“We believe this shows management’s confidence in more sustainable demand for Ford Pro vehicles,” he said Thursday in an investor note. “The [internal combustion engine] investment over EV investment should be viewed positively.”

Ford had previously announced plans to invest $1.3 billion into the Canadian plant for EV production. Those plans included a new three-row SUV, which the company recently delayed until 2027.

The announcement comes weeks after Farley said full electrification of “big, huge, enormous” vehicles such as Ford’s Super Duty trucks was “never going to make money.”

Joe Biden to Dem. Rep. Jason Crow, decorated for valor in combat in Iraq: "Tell me who did something that you’ve never done with your Bronze Star like my son!"

President Biden Says Beau Biden's Bronze Star Is Worth More Than Representative Jason Crow's Combat Award

In a leaked Zoom call with moderate House Democrats on Sunday, President Joseph Biden once again used his dead son, Beau Biden, this time, to insult and denigrate the military and combat service of Colorado Congressman Jason Crow (D). Biden was unhinged as he told Crow to "tell me who did something that you’ve never done with your Bronze Star like my son!" President Biden was attempting to convey the message that he was fit and able to continue on with his campaign and snapped at Crow when he politely expressed his concerns to the president.

Instead of addressing Crow's and other moderate Democrats' concerns, Biden snapped at Crow and went on a full-blown assault, which ended with an attack on his Army and combat service and comparing it with his son Beau's service. Biden specifically ridiculed Crow's Bronze Star in a pathetic and out-of-bounds attack, which the campaign did not deny or dispute. ... A Bronze Star with "V" is the fourth highest award for valor in combat, with the Silver Star, Service Cross (Army Distinguished Service Cross, Navy, Air Force Crosses), and Medal of Honor preceding it.

Michael Moore, 4th of July: Biden not fit to serve 4 more days

Daniel McCarthy has to assert that JD Vance is loyal because he isn't really

Does a loyal man run to be your senator and turn around and dump you after less than two years in office?

Really, he said he was NeverTrump in 2015-2016. He wasn't loyal to that either.

NeverTrump J. D. Vance in 2016 was a small sea of confusion whose options were his dog, Hillary, and Evan McMuffinhead lol

VANCE: My current plan is to vote either third party or, as I joked to my wife, I might write in my dog because that's about as good as it seems. But, you know, I think there's a chance, if I feel like Trump has a really good chance of winning, that I might have to hold my nose and vote for Hillary Clinton. But at the end of the day, I just feel like she is so culturally disconnected from the people that I grew up around that it would be very, very hard for me to cast my ballot for her. So ultimately I think I'll probably vote third party. I might vote for this new guy who I really like, Evan McMullin, who I actually met the other day. But I think that I'm going to vote third party because I can't stomach Trump. I think that he's noxious and is leading the white working class to a very dark place. And ultimately I just don't share Hillary Clinton's politics.

I would like the name of his dog NOW.

The truth about these dysfunctional, downscale communities is that they deserve to die. Economically, they are negative assets. Morally, they are indefensible.

    -- Kevin Williamson, March 2016

And it's interesting that all of the people that I talk about in my book that grew up in this chaos that ended up having successful home lives and successful marriages - they married an outsider.

They married someone like I did who didn't grow up with these lessons, who didn't grow up with these experiences, and because of that, knew how to manage the people that they were married to and knew how to not respond in kind. As I write in the book, you put two of me in the same marriage, and I don't think it works.

But you put one of me, who's maybe a little self-reflective, in a marriage with somebody who hasn't faced that trauma - then I think you have a good chance. And that's one of the lessons of my life.

-- J. D. Vance, from the NPR interview, August 2016, here

Meanwhile phony Joe protests he's not an extremist

President who labeled half of the country extremists now appeals for unity

“Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic,” Mr. Biden said in a fiery Independence Hall speech on Sept. 1, 2022, looking to shape the midterm elections. “And here, in my view, is what is true: MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people.”

He continued: “MAGA Republicans have made their choice. They embrace anger. They thrive on chaos. They live not in the light of truth but in the shadow of lies. And yet history tells us that blind loyalty to a single leader and a willingness to engage in political violence is fatal to democracy.” ...

“Not since President Lincoln and the Civil War have freedom and democracy been under assault here at home as they are today,” he lamented. “What makes our moment rare is that freedom and democracy are under attack, both at home and overseas, at the very same time.”
