Tim Walz is a conventional California lefty on immigration who rammed through his radical policies in Minnesota once Democrats got control of its legislature

Kamala Harris picked him because she went with her gut.

As the Democratic governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz signed into law initiatives allowing immigrants in the country illegally to apply for driver’s licenses, qualify for free tuition at state universities and enroll in the state’s free healthcare program for low-income residents. Walz’s actions on immigration—nearly all taken in the last two years, when Democrats had control of the state Legislature—put him squarely in the mainstream of his party. ...

Allowing those without a legal immigration status to drive legally, go to college at in-state rates and enroll in health insurance are pieces of a two-decade project by Democrats ...

“He’s more in line with what we’re seeing in states across the country led by a Democrat,” said Victoria Francis, deputy director of state and local initiatives at the American Immigration Council, a liberal-leaning national advocacy organization.

Defeated Cori Bush epitomizes the anti-semitism of today's left, whose home is in the Democrat Party, but The Chicago Tribune would rather make it about unhinged rhetoric to make themselves sound bipartisan

... her concession speech (if you could call it that) was wildly off-base. “All they did is radicalize me,”  a fuming Bush said of AIPAC. “So they need to be afraid.” ...

“AIPAC, I’m coming to tear your kingdom down,” she said. ...

Democrats often complain (justly) about unhinged rhetoric from Donald Trump and others on the Republican side with the capacity to incite unrest. In her pique, Bush was guilty of much the same thing.

Oh gee, what a surprise, Kamala Harris has a radical black anti-American, anti-semitic pastor named Amos Brown, just like Barack Obama had Jeremiah Wright

The guy's so bad Senator Diane Feinstein walked out on him, as did Governor Gray Davis, both Democrats:

At a memorial service for victims of the 9/11 terror attacks held just six days after al Qaeda murdered nearly 3,000 Americans, Brown used the occasion to point the finger at the United States in remarks that, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, "set a lot of people’s teeth on edge" and "left politicians stunned."

"America, is there anything you did to set up this climate?" Brown asked the audience. "Ohhhh—America, what did you do?"

"America, what did you do two weeks ago when I stood at the world conference on racism, when you wouldn't show up?" Brown continued, referring to his participation in the United Nations World Conference Against Racism, which the United States and Israel boycotted citing concerns about anti-Semitism.

Brown’s diatribe jarred a mostly liberal audience, the Chronicle reported, noting that the late California senator Dianne Feinstein (D.) and former California governor Gray Davis (D.) left during his remarks. ...

Brown’s radical politics have also veered into anti-Semitism. He served as a delegate to the 2001 United Nations World Conference Against Racism held in Durban, South Africa, and best known for equating Zionism with racism. The United States and Israel walked out of the conference over that resolution, expressing dismay that a conference ostensibly devoted to combating hatred had devolved into a hate fest. ...

He serves on the California Reparations Task Force and has called for cash payments to the descendants of slaves from "billionaires in San Francisco," according to the New York Times.  The pastor held a "Solidarity for Reparations" event at his church in 2022 and told the San Francisco Chronicle in 2021 that "America is a racist country." ...

He has visited Harris at the White House at least twice and told Religion News Service this week Harris remains a "dues-paying member" of his church. "For two decades now, at least, I have turned to you," Harris said of Brown in her remarks to the National Baptist Convention 2022.

The story is here.

NeverTrump Bulwark is in a panic that Biden has already radicalized moderates

Majorities now approve of Donald Trump’s mass deportation plans—including 42 percent of Democrats—as well as a border wall. And while violent crime has fallen dramatically since the Trump presidency, voters see more disorder. Drugstores didn’t clear their shelves and lock up merchandise because of widespread looting until Biden was in charge. Videos of open-air drug markets and mayhem on subways don’t just make people scared, they make them angry.

There has been record inflation too, and high prices contribute to a pervasive sense of anxiety in the electorate. But Biden would be far better off politically if high prices were the sole challenge he had with voters. Disorder is a drain on the American psyche. And it’s threatening Biden’s re-election, as it leaves voters receptive to the kind of harsh law-and-order appeal Trump prefers. ... look at the polls ... There is bipartisan fury over protests and immigration. Trump is running to restore order, and voters have given him a lead.

The column is devastating for Biden.

Kim Strassel: Biden is coming for your truck

The column is here:
It’s a tailor-made issue for Donald Trump, a perfect summation of his opponent’s radicalism. His campaign immediately trashed the rule as a diktat that will “force Americans to buy ultra-expensive cars they do not want and cannot afford while destroying the U.S. auto industry.” Just wait until he gets around to the bumper-sticker formula: “They’re coming for your truck.” An energy trade group has already been up with ads making that point in swing states, calling on Americans to reject Biden’s “EPA car ban.”

Paraprosdokianism in the news: Colorado and Maine move to destroy democracy in order to save it

Do we really want another pre-civil war election, where one candidate doesn't appear, for whatever reasons, on the ballots of ten Democrat states, as Lincoln did not and became president despite 60% of the country wanting anybody but Lincoln?

Radicalism is in the air.

Please wear a mask.

Destroying democracy to save it: Maine shows the danger of zealots in our legal system:

Maine’s Shenna Bellows issued a “decision” that declared Trump an “insurrectionist” and ineligible to be president. She joined an ignoble list of Democratic officials in states such as Colorado who claim to safeguard democracy by denying its exercise to millions of Americans. ...

One columnist wrote that “Democrats may have to act radically to deny Donald Trump the 2024 Republican nomination. We cannot rely on Republicans to do it…Trump must be defeated. No matter what it takes.”

LOL, obsessive truck tire slasher Juliette Kayyem thinks there's a whole CONVOY of colluders behind the Buffalo shooter

But that lone wolf language fails us in an era when hate and radicalization now serve as a proxy for the collaborative herd, for the co-conspirators and colluders. Gendron wasn’t alone. His mission was effective because he was supported by an apparatus that provided the ideology and means for the hunt. Based on evidence from a manifesto that he reportedly posted Thursday night, Gendron did not perceive himself as being alone: He had his people; they were there for him.

Matt Taibbi: Bernie Sanders "poised to receive the same kind of bump Trump got in 2016 from media stupidity"

Here in Rolling Stone.

I don't think so.

Biden's lead today over Sanders is 8 points, higher than it was in March 2019 when Sanders peaked at 24.0 in the polls. Sanders is at 20.4 now.

No one has been able to dirty up Biden enough to bring him down. Meanwhile both Bernie and Warren have brought themselves down by their own radicalism.

And now the revenge of Nancy Pelosi's impeachment will sideline the radicals for a while, just as Iowa prepares to vote.

The radicals' only hope is a quick trial from Cocaine Mitch.

Everyone on the Democrat side who wants to drag out this impeachment is on the side of sidelining the radicals.

Hm, developing pattern: CNN's gay anchor Don Lemon demonizes white men even though his boyfriend is one, proposes doing "something" about them

So, we have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them. There is no travel ban on them. There is no ban on -- you know, they had the Muslim ban. There is no white guy ban.

I rather doubt George Scialabba's radicalism has ANY room for the citizens of 30 states who once explicitly and overwhelmingly defined marriage as heterosexual ...

... until a black-robed tribunal of nine decided otherwise.

Anthony Kennedy was the radical, and George Scialabba wouldn't recognize radicalism if it came up and bit him in the ass.

From The New Republic, here:

Scialabba believes that the one saving possibility in this country is rooted in our imperfect and hypocritical adherence to two ideas: that people are radically equal and that, as equals, they have to be the judges of their own interests and the authors of their own laws. All intellectual melodrama about how we are too frail and narrow to draw our own judgments or govern ourselves, Scialabba rightly takes for a combination of juvenile philosophical elitism on the one hand, and, on the other, unselfconscious apologetics for the political and economic orders that have been profitably hollowing out our capacity for self-rule.

Antifa's radicalism boils down to communist anarchism: No borders, no walls, no USA at all

To Antifa, anyone who believes in the American nation is a fascist and is therefore the enemy. The police are the enemy because the police defend the nation, the citizens and their property, all of which Antifa believes must be destroyed. That's why the police arrest people with hammers at these "protests".

Antifa hates the cops by definition because Antifa are radicals, not simply because cops stop them from beating up their other enemies

Watch Rep. Louie Gohmert expose the FBI's Robert Mueller for his incompetence in the Boston bombing case

Watch Mueller squirm, here, as Gohmert makes him admit he was never aware the mosque which radicalized the Boston bombers was started by the convicted terrorist A. Alamoudi.

I knew there was something I didn't like about R. R. Reno

Once a radical, always a radical.

He admits to nostalgia for his former radicalism, here:

Jacobin, founded in 2010, is a Marxist quarterly that has gotten notice as the voice of youngish radicals. I took a subscription last year, wanting to know the thinking of the anti-establishment left. As a college student in the early 1980s, I was for a brief period the campus organizer of CISPES, the Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador. I’ll leave it to the historians to determine whether CISPES was a front organization under Soviet control, but I can report that my participation in meetings put me in touch with hard-core communists. So I enjoy a certain nostalgic pleasure when I read the occasional essay that speaks of “objective conditions” and “a working-class vanguard.”
