The soul of the news industry . . . always has been, always will be

In other unbelievable news, the population clock of the US Census Bureau shows an increase of just 4.6 million since Joe Biden was inaugurated

Out of sight, out of mind I guess.

Good Lord man, that "wave" is just 291,400 people, 0.086% of the entire population

They expect to be paid for this news.

That would have been terrible: AP Obama is much easier to type

RFK Jr sounds just like Mr. Richard Feder of Fort Lee, New Jersey

RFK Jr has complained of memory loss, severe mental fog, a dark spot on his brain, a brain tumor, a brain-eating worm, atrial fibrillation, a bag of worms in his chest, mercury poisoning, trouble retrieving words, hepatitis C, spasmodic dysphonia, and getting on the ballot in only a handful of states with just six months until the election.

Mr. Richard Feder of Fort Lee, New Jersey, SNL Nov 18, 1978:

Dear Roseanne Roseannadanna,
Last Thursday I quit smoking
Now . . .
I'm depressed
I gained weight
My face broke out
I'm nauseous
I'm constipated
My feet swelled
My gums are bleeding
My sinuses are clogged
I got heartburn
I'm cranky and I have GAS.

Scouting America for new victims

Boy Scouts victims begin receiving settlement payouts as appeals continue

Reuters, September 19, 2023

The Boy Scouts of America’s $2.46 billion settlement trust has begun sending payments to men who were abused as children by troop leaders, under a bankruptcy settlement still facing appeals from a minority group of abuse survivors.
The initial payments are being sent to 7,000 claimants who chose a "quick pay" option under the Boy Scouts of America's bankruptcy plan, with the first 70 claimants paid on Tuesday. Those claimants will receive $3,500 without going through the lengthier evaluation process that awaits 75,000 others who filed claims.

Grandparents rate students worse than their children

MEDIA HYPE? STUDENTS RATE GAZA WAR LEAST OF CONCERNS...

We kill our children swap our wives

We've learned to greet a man with knives

We swallow pills in fours and fives
Our cities look like crumbling hives
Man does not live he just survives
We sleep till he arrives

Love is a corpse we sit and watch it harden

We left it oh so long ago the garden

The US has had 22,000-140,000 civilian deaths on its hands in the war on terror and pleads for understanding, but Biden won't ask the same for Israel

More than simply a double standard, the constant haranguing of Israel by the United States over the deaths of innocents – the accidental deaths of innocents, the unavoidable deaths of innocents during wartime – constitutes an immoral attack against an ethical army that is doing its best to prevent civilian casualties.

More.

C'mon man, Trump's kangaroo trial in New York is presided over by a judge born in Bogota who couldn't find his own ass with both hands and a flashlight let alone Trump's "other crime"

NeverTrump Bulwark is in a panic that Biden has already radicalized moderates

Majorities now approve of Donald Trump’s mass deportation plans—including 42 percent of Democrats—as well as a border wall. And while violent crime has fallen dramatically since the Trump presidency, voters see more disorder. Drugstores didn’t clear their shelves and lock up merchandise because of widespread looting until Biden was in charge. Videos of open-air drug markets and mayhem on subways don’t just make people scared, they make them angry.

There has been record inflation too, and high prices contribute to a pervasive sense of anxiety in the electorate. But Biden would be far better off politically if high prices were the sole challenge he had with voters. Disorder is a drain on the American psyche. And it’s threatening Biden’s re-election, as it leaves voters receptive to the kind of harsh law-and-order appeal Trump prefers. ... look at the polls ... There is bipartisan fury over protests and immigration. Trump is running to restore order, and voters have given him a lead.

The column is devastating for Biden.

Perverse Biden asks Israel to re-open aid crossing Hamas rocketed yesterday, killing several Israeli soldiers

Warren Buffett practices what he preaches

Yeah, remember when Trump withheld Ukraine aid and everybody just pretended not to see, just like with Joe Biden in March 2016 and again now?

On Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Hamas wing at Columbia University calls for another holocaust

Biden stopped an ammo shipment to Israel last week to pressure Israel against invading Rafah, repeating his illegality from March 2016 when he withheld a Congressional appropriation from Ukraine

Axios reported yesterday here, just as Hamas was launching new rocket attacks on Israel.

Israel will win: Rafah is today being leveled because Hamas sabotaged cease fire talks by attacking yesterday

Rasmussen: 17% of mail-in voters in 2020 admit voting in a state in which they were no longer a permanent resident

Election officials report that of 159 million ballots cast in 2020, more than 68 million were submitted by mail, about 43 percent of the total. In addition, as the MIT Election Data and Science Lab noted, “the dramatic increase in the raw number of absentee ballots cast was accompanied by a significant decrease in the overall absentee rejection rate for the country: from 0.96 percent in 2016 to 0.79 percent in 2020.”

If the recent Heartland Institute/Rasmussen survey is accurate and one in five ballots were, in fact, fraudulent, that would suggest greater than 13 million ballots should not have been counted nationwide in 2020. That’s far more than the margin of victory for President Biden in the popular vote, about 7 million. ...

Another survey conducted in March and April by the Heartland Institute and Rasmussen shows that 28 percent of likely voters now say they would commit at least one form of illegal voting during the 2024 election, “if given the opportunity.” Interestingly, respondents’ willingness to commit fraud was similar among Republicans, Democrats, and independents.

Why it feels like a depression

Because average annual real GDP growth rates are so low.

Between 1929 and 1945, average annual real GDP grew at a compound annual rate of 4.74%.

Between 2007 and 2023, average annual real GDP grew at a compound annual rate of 1.82%, which is under-performing the sixteen year Great Depression and WWII era rate by almost 62%.

Up until 2007, the country averaged 3.44% from 1929.

Something remains rotten in Denmark.
