Ford Motor loses $1.22 billion on electric vehicles in 3Q

Ford’s “Model e” electric vehicle unit recorded losses of $1.22 billion during the third quarter — less than it lost a year earlier, largely due to lower volumes and cost cuts.

Ford CEO Jim Farley told investors Monday that the company continues to believe in its EV strategy; however, the automaker has pulled back on many investments in the vehicles to focus on hybrid models.

Tim Walz has Chicom bimbo eruption from 1989: Former lover spills the beans about how he used her for sex

Jenna Wang, 59, claims the VP hopeful showered her with gifts and seduced her at his poky staff accommodation at No. 1 High School in Foshan, Guangdong Province. ...

'Tim was very passionate and very romantic. I can still remember dancing with him to our favorite song, Careless Whisper,' she told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview. 'The fact we couldn't touch or kiss in public just made it all the more exciting and intense when we were finally alone. We were deeply in love and I wanted to marry him and start a family. When it didn't happen, I felt very unhappy and sad. Tim's behavior was very selfish. ... This is a very crucial moment in history and a man like this does not appear to have the character and integrity to do one of the most important jobs in the world.'

The parade of Democrats posing for this same picture this year has been really something.

Kamala Harris' dad was way ahead of 2006 Paul Krugman warning in 1988 that immigration hurt native born black Americans

“Trends in international trade have moved against U.S. workers,” [Harris] wrote. “U.S. immigration laws have been modified in ways that increase the influx of low-skilled workers, who compete with native-born youths and low-skilled adult workers for low-skilled jobs.

“This shift has been a particularly serious problem for blacks, who constitute a high proportion of the low-skilled adult workers,” according to the book.

The New York Post's Jon Levine laughably tars this as merely a point of view "typical of far-left economic thinking on immigration".

But Marx viewed free-trade as an accelerant of social revolution precisely because it destroyed national identities.

The real revolutionaries who would destroy America are the enthusiasts for mass immigration, which dilutes and replaces the native born patriot population. Paul Krugman joined them in February, infamously flip-flopping to "immigrants make America stronger".

The free-trade libertarians of the Republican Party at The New York Post and The Wall Street Journal and the open borders Democrats are the same party.

Cheap gasoline prices were key to the Trump-era "boom" for the bottom half of income earners destroyed by the Great Recession

Reported here in "Inflation-shocked low- and middle-income Americans may not spend normally for years":

“For a very large share of Americans, the bottom 60% are spending more on essentials than before the pandemic,” said Michael Pearce, Oxford Economics deputy chief U.S. economist. “The burden is hardest among the lowest income but also touches middle income. Spending patterns of low-income Americans will take years to recover.” ...

The last time low-income Americans’ discretionary spending fell this much, which was during the Global Financial Crisis of 2007-2008, it took five to 10 years for spending patterns to return to previous levels, he said.

“And the reason was gas prices fell,” Pearce said. Global oil prices fell by about 70% between 2014-16, which pushed pump prices sharply lower and helped low-income Americans catch up.

“It’s harder to see some revolutionary cost saving (like that) on the horizon,” he said.

Harder to see only if we continue with the green energy nonsense.

The opportunities are YUGE for Trump/Vance because ALL energy costs much more now.

It's not just gasoline. Get the government boot off the neck of fossil fuel producers and gasoline will come down, natural gas will come down, and electricity will come down.

Base energy from coal should be transitioned to nuclear, which works in cold weather and hot weather without fail just like coal, unlike natural gas, wind, and solar, which are fine where appropriate but not as base energy, the energy you must have when you need it when the sun doesn't shine, the wind doesn't blow, and the gas won't flow.

Illegal aliens invited by Democrat scoundrels as reported by US Customs and Border Protection has been an historic invasion: ~ 14 million

Biden-Harris have let in at the very least 4 million of these, counting the minimum estimate of gotaways who have overwhelmed the ridiculous system and the known parolees. The largest standing army in the world is China's at 2 million.

Nearly three million foreign nationals illegally entered or attempted entry into the U.S. in fiscal 2024, according to data published by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The total reported nationwide was 2,901,142, with 198,929 reported at the northern border and 2,135,005 reported at the southwest border.

The data includes Border Patrol apprehensions between ports of entry, CBP encounters at ports of entry, and Office of Field Operations apprehensions nationwide.

CBP’s fiscal 2024 data, which covers Oct. 1, 2023, through Sept. 1, 2024, is the second highest reported under the Biden-Harris administration and second highest in U.S. history.

The highest total reported in U.S. history was more than 3.2 million in fiscal 2023, followed by fiscal 2024, fiscal 2022’s more than 2.76 million and fiscal 2021’s 1.95 million.

When subtracting the first three months of fiscal 2021, which occurred during the Trump administration, the number drops to 1,684,116.

No other administration has reported totals as high as these.

Combined, CBP apprehension/encounter data under the Biden-Harris administration totals 10,552,984.

This total excludes more than 2 million who illegally entered and evaded capture, known as gotaways.

CBP does not publicly report gotaway data.

The Center Square first reported gotaway data in 2021 after receiving it from a Border Patrol agent.

Retired CBP officials say the number is higher because gotaway data is underreported by about 20%.

The total also excludes 1,383,000 inadmissables released into the U.S. through two parole programs created by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

This includes more than 852,000 illegal foreign nationals processed and released into the country through the CBP One App and more than 531,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans deemed inadmissible and released into the country through the CHNV parole program, according to CBP data. ...

The parole total also excludes the number of illegal foreign nationals released into the country through at least another 10 programs Mayorkas created. Federal judges ruled the parole programs are illegal; House Republicans cited them as examples of illegal actions for which they impeached Mayorkas in February. ...

Under the Biden-Harris administration, a record 518,524 illegal border crossers were reported at the northern border, excluding gotaways, the highest in U.S. history.

Gold and silver and yields, oh my

Prime Rib and Pork Chops and Scampi, Oh My

Gold prices fell over 1% after hitting a record high on Wednesday, as a stronger dollar and a rise in U.S. Treasury yields countered support from safe-haven demand linked to the Nov. 5 U.S. election and Middle East war.

The world has grown to 8 billion because it gets 76+% of its primary energy from cheap fossil fuels, but Kamala Harris' energy adviser won't have kids and calls them the death cult

Fossil fuels have terrorized her into childlessness and hatred for individualists, whites, and men.

Kamala Harris' confused messaging on fossil fuels, reported by Politico and given publicity by CNN's KFILE, continues to melt down lol

Camila Thorndike, a top Harris-Walz campaign climate adviser, abruptly walked back her recent comments stating that Vice President Kamala Harris would be hostile to future oil and gas drilling as president—effectively reversing her reversal of the candidate's position.

In a statement Monday, Thorndike lamented that she wasn't clear enough when she told Politico last week that Harris is not "promoting expansion" of oil drilling and suggested Harris was not fond of a provision in the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act mandating fossil fuel leases. Thorndike serves as Harris's "climate engagement director."

"I didn't explain myself clearly here," Thorndike said Monday. "Contrary to Trump's claims, the VP has not banned fracking, doesn't support banning fracking, and in fact cast the tie-breaking vote on the biggest pro-climate law ever, which, yes, opened new fracking leases. People know that's her position." ...

It remains unclear how Thorndike's new statement clarifies her comments from last week.

More

It's hard to run away from a former position which had no nuance.

Harris was, and remains, an extreme opponent of fossil fuels, a Kool-Aid drinker like Hillary Clinton who thought you could mandate solar panels on every home in the United States.

More importantly, her political support comes from the extreme opponents of fossil fuels, and they have to be assuaged as Harris runs away from them in order to win in pro-fracking Pennsylvania, at whom the Monday statement was aimed.

Harris' climate adviser is being forced by the campaign to say words she doesn't want to say.
