But Jen Psaki assured us all the Afghans from the surrender debacle were thoroughly screened
According to prosecutors, Tawhedi entered the United States in September 2021 and is currently on parole status pending the adjudication of his immigration proceedings. He lives in Oklahoma City with his wife and child.
Gallup poll not good for the incumbents Biden-Harris: Economy ranked most important as in 2008 when the voters dumped the incumbent Republicans represented by John McCain
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The economy ranks as the most important of 22 issues that U.S. registered voters say will influence their choice for president. It is the only issue on which a majority of voters, 52%, say the candidates’ positions on it are an “extremely important” influence on their vote. Another 38% of voters rate the economy as “very important,” which means the issue could be a significant factor to nine in 10 voters. ...
The current 52% of voters rating the economy as an “extremely important” influence on their vote for president is the highest since October 2008 during the Great Recession, when 55% of voters said the same.

It's not 2008, obviously, where everyone feared a catastrophe with banks failing left and right, homes going into foreclosure, and stocks tanking, but the perception of the economy as lousy today because of high inflation is remarkably high as it was in 2008 as indicated by this poll.
Everyone forgets that the vast majority of the job losses came after Obama was elected in 2008, not before, which took a record number of years to recover, setting the stage for Donald Trump. And pandemic fear drove the election cycle in 2020 and not the economy because of the gargantuan bailouts of the people.
Kicker:
Voters view Donald Trump as better able than Kamala Harris to handle the economy, 54% versus 45%.
By 2032 no more than 29% of new cars can be gas-powered, and Kamala Harris doesn't have to do anything to make it happen except get elected to protect the Biden EPA rule
That's one big reason why Kamala says she can't think of one thing she'd do differently than Joe Biden.
The Environmental Protection Agency’s new greenhouse gas emissions rules require that battery-powered and plug-in hybrid vehicles make up 32% of auto maker sales in 2027. By 2032 no more than 29% of new cars can be gas-powered. Ergo, there will be only one gas-powered model for every two electric cars on dealer lots. ...
Auto makers must spend tens of billions of dollars to ramp up EV production to meet government mandates. The financial pain is growing for companies as sales of gas-powered cars decline, reducing profits available to invest in the EV “transition.” ...
A UAW study in 2019 projected that EVs would kill 35,000 jobs at its plants. “The workers who are making engines and transmissions today, their jobs will be eliminated when we make a transition to electric vehicles,” said UAW research director Jennifer Kelly.

So, Doug Emhoff behaved badly at the office too
I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.
The UK Daily Mail has softened the title over the day today from this:
To this:
Kamala Harris' husband Doug Emhoff faces explosive new allegations from his time at top LA law firm:
Attorneys who worked with Doug Emhoff at
his former firm Venable say he yelled expletives, held a men-only
cocktail hour in the office, revoked work perks from women who didn't
flirt with him, and took only young, attractive associates in a
limousine to a ball. ...
'What's worse was he bragged about it to the management at Venable and they were aghast. He's an a**hole. He told them how he "put her in her place". A misogynist, that's who does that.'
Longtime Democrats Doug Schoen and Andrew Stein speechless after rudderless Biden-Harris administration fails Hurricane Helene victims
The failure of the Biden-Harris administration to take charge of urgently needed rescue and recovery efforts after Hurricane Helene underscores a key question: Who is really running this White House?
Right now, we have no clear answer.
President Biden’s and Vice President Harris’ cavalier indifference to the Americans fighting to survive in the disaster zone has left us — both longtime Democrats — speechless. ...
It took six days for the White House to activate a paltry 1,000 military members to help deliver assistance — even though three of America’s premier military divisions with critical search and rescue experience are based within just a few hours of the hardest-hit areas in the Carolinas and Georgia.
Compare that to President George W. Bush, who ordered nearly 10,000 troops to the Hurricane Katrina disaster zone in 2005.

Fixed income investors in US Treasury securities took a beating last week as yields surged 4.67%
Year to date total return tanked for 30-year bonds from 2.01% on 9/27/24 to -0.78% on 10/4/24.
For 20-year bonds year to date return fell from 3.33% to 0.98% over the week.
There was similar carnage down the curve. Only 3mo and 6mo Treasury bills were up year to date week over week.
Trump strongholds in North Carolina and Georgia were hit hard by Hurricane Helene
Politico reports here:
Hurricane Helene hit especially hard in heavily Republican areas of Georgia and North Carolina — a fact that could work to Donald Trump’s disadvantage in the two swing states. ...
The parts of western North Carolina and eastern Georgia that were
flooded by the monster storm are largely Republican. In 2020, he won 61
percent of the vote in the North Carolina counties that were declared a
disaster after Helene. He won 54 percent of the vote in Georgia’s
disaster counties. ...
State records show that nearly 40,000 absentee ballots were mailed to voters in the 25 North Carolina counties that were declared a disaster following Helene. Fewer than 1,000 have been returned.

Kamala Harris would be the first president with a VP who said he fought in a war he didn't fight in, with a rank he didn't have, used IVF to have kids when he didn't, and placed himself at the scene of a famous foreign event when he was still in Nebraska
The Harris-Biden messaging is in complete disarray: Kamala boasts right now about spending millions to aid Lebanon, which harbors Israel's enemies, while her own DHS Secretary is warning FEMA is running out of money for hurricanes
And Mayorkas couldn't care less about FEMA running out of money or the suffering in the Southeast. He went clothes shopping on Saturday.
This administration excels at in-your-face bad optics in addition to doing a horrible job.

Are you ready for 67% all-electric vehicles by 2032, or 56% all-electrics and 13% plug-in hybrids, because that is what you will get if Kamala Harris wins and simply lets the EPA final rule from March play out
Automakers could still comply with the final rule by making EVs account for 67 percent of new car sales in 2032, according to the EPA. But they could also meet the requirements by making all-electric vehicles account for 56 percent and making plug-in hybrids represent 13 percent, the agency said.
And we're not talking about hybrids which you don't have to plug in.
Kamala Harris is bent on abolishing combustion engine vehicles entirely, as she was in 2019.
