The National NAACP suspended Illinois' NAACP president in December for her intemperate remarks about illegal aliens displacing blacks

Calling immigrants 'savages' and rapists creates uproar

Springfield NAACP Branch President Teresa Haley
The national NAACP has suspended Teresa Haley as president of the group’s Illinois State Conference after the Springfield resident was recorded on video in October calling immigrants “savages” and saying they are “raping people” and attracting more sympathy than Black people with similar needs.

Haley’s comments, made during an online monthly video call with NAACP leaders throughout Illinois, drew criticism from Gov. JB Pritzker, state and local groups advocating on behalf of immigrants and a call for her resignation from a former suburban Chicago NAACP leader.

Haley, who received the "activist of the year" award at the 2020 NAACP Image Awards, issued a written apology in a Dec. 14 news release from the Illinois NAACP.

The news release also said NAACP branch presidents from throughout Illinois met Dec. 13 and “unanimously supported Haley’s quintessential leadership skills.”

But the national NAACP, based in Baltimore, said in a statement Dec. 15 that it suspended Haley Dec. 13.

It’s unclear whether national NAACP officials had communicated with Illinois branch presidents before the Illinois NAACP meeting. Champaign’s NAACP branch president, Minnie Pearson, told Illinois Times on Dec. 15 that the suspension was a surprise to her. She declined further comment.

Haley initially scheduled a news conference Dec. 16 in Springfield, where she is president of the Springfield NAACP branch, but an emailed statement to the news media said the news conference was canceled “in accordance with the recent request from the national NAACP office. Ms. Haley stands by her heartfelt apology and will not provide any further comments at this juncture.”

The Dec. 15 statement from the national NAACP, the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization, said the nonprofit “stands firm in our commitment to advancing racial justice and cultivating a society where human dignity is respected.”

The NAACP didn’t respond to requests for more information or clarification, didn’t say how long the suspension will last, whether the group will consider permanently removing Haley as statewide president or whether the suspension also applies to Haley’s position as president of the Springfield NAACP branch.

“As an internal matter, there will be no additional comment at this time,” the statement said, adding, “The NAACP will continue to foster an environment that is reflective of our mission and respective of our membership.”

Haley, 58, a retired state employee who was elected to her first two-year term as president of the Illinois NAACP in 2015, hasn’t responded to Illinois Times’ requests for an interview.

Television station ABC7 Chicago reported that Haley told one of its reporters in early December, in a phone call while she was on vacation in Dubai, that she didn’t make the comments and that the video was fake and was created with artificial intelligence.

"With AI, anything is possible," Haley told the Chicago reporter.

Then, in the Dec. 14 Illinois State Conference news release, Haley reversed course without explanation.

“First and foremost,” she said, “I express my sincere apologies to anyone who may have been hurt or offended by my comments. I love and value all members of our communities – including immigrants. I have worked tirelessly to advocate for the underserved and the voiceless. I remain focused on denouncing injustices, racism and discrimination.

“I am empathetic to the plight of all people, and I proudly serve as a beacon of hope to the hopeless. I embrace the mission of the NAACP, which is to ‘Achieve equity, political rights and social inclusion by advancing policies and practices that expand human and civil rights, eliminate discrimination and accelerate the well-being, education and economic security of Black people and all persons of color.”

Elbert Betts, 82, a retired principal of Southeast High School who is a member of the Springfield NAACP’s executive committee, said Haley “has my support 100%.”

Regarding Haley’s comments on the video, Betts said, “I don’t think she was lashing out at anybody.”

Betts said he doesn’t think Haley’s critics misinterpreted her comments. He said he hopes the national NAACP “gives her due process” before making any final decision about her status.

Former DuPage County NAACP branch president Patrick Watson

Patrick Watson, 40, a small business owner in the Chicago suburb of Lisle, said he recorded the October statements by Haley when he was president of the NAACP’s DuPage County branch. The branch also covers the counties of Kane, Kendall and Will, and part of northwest suburban Cook County.

Watson told Illinois Times he had complained to the national NAACP for months about what he called Haley’s disregard for NAACP bylaws on acceptable business practices.

“She tends to create her own facts and creates her own reality,” he said.

Watson also said Haley has engaged in “hate speech against the LGBTQ community.”

He said Haley, in a November monthly video meeting with Illinois NAACP officials, questioned national NAACP officials’ use of “they” and “them” pronouns preferred by certain staff members. According to Watson, Haley said, “What the hell is that?”

Watson said he resigned from his post on Dec. 12 in protest of Haley’s conduct and requested her resignation. That same day, he notified the media about Haley’s October comments and provided an approximately two-minute section of a recording of the two-hour-long video meeting.

“I could no longer be a part of the organization,” he said. “Hate has no home in the organization.”

Watson said he also notified the national NAACP and the media because Haley is campaigning to be named to the NAACP’s national board of directors in an internal election taking place in December and culminating at the end of the month.

In the video clip, Haley talked about immigrants who have been bused to Chicago and other Northern cities from the U.S. border with Mexico.

Apparently in response to comments made by other people on the call, Haley said Peoria, Springfield and other cities should prepare for immigrants wanting services and noted that cities are being more eager and generous about finding immigrants safe housing than they have in serving low-income Black people.

“But Black people have been on the streets for ever and ever, and nobody cares because they say that we’re drug addicts, we’ve got mental health issues. But these immigrants who come over here, they’ve been raping people, they’ve been breaking into homes, they’re like savages as well. They don’t speak the language, and they look at us like we were crazy because we were the only people in America who were brought over here against our wills and were slaves, sold into slavery.

“But everybody else who comes over here? We’re so kind, we’re so friendly. You need some clothes, you need a place to stay? We’re gonna make it happen. So brother, I feel your pain. I’m right there with you. I’m trying not to be a (N-word), but you know I’m pro-Black.”

Pritzker called Haley’s comments on the video “reprehensible” and told the news media he hoped she would apologize.

The governor said “people should recognize that immigrants in this country are all around us” and “virtually all of us came here from somewhere else. So remarks like that are commentary on our entire society.”

Pritzker’s press office didn’t respond when asked what the Democratic governor thought about Haley’s apology.

Watson said he doubted the sincerity of Haley’s apology because she directed it to “anyone who may have been hurt or offended.”

Watson called the national NAACP’s suspension of Haley “a great first step to begin the healing of the community to show there’s no hate in the organization.”

The Dec. 14 statement from the Illinois NAACP said Watson received “an unprecedented and embarrassing ‘vote of no confidence’ by his branch members on Nov. 14.”

But Watson said such votes are not provided for in NAACP bylaws. He said the alleged vote apparently was conducted by a handful of people supporting Haley and didn’t represent a majority of branch members.

Veronica Espina, founder and president of the Springfield Immigrant Advocacy Network, didn’t comment on Haley’s apology or suspension but said she was “sad and upset” after hearing Haley’s taped comments.

“It’s not just disappointing. It’s hurtful,” Espina said.

“The NAACP has a history of supporting immigrants and refugees in this country,” she said, adding that low-income Black people and immigrants often live in the same neighborhoods and share the same concerns and challenges.

“We need to stop using the lens of ‘them vs. us,’” Espina said, adding that those who oppress marginalized groups benefit when those groups criticize each other.

“They divide and conquer,” Espina said. “It’s a way of thinking we need to reject. There are resources out there.”

A joint statement from the network and the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights said the groups rejected Haley’s comments on the video:

“Divisive rhetoric damages communities. It reinforced harmful stereotypes, which, in turn, hurt entire groups of people. Apologies must include strategies to begin dialogue, deliberate actions to repair relationships and commitment to share accurate information.”

Black people in Chicago were being displaced by illegal aliens under Biden's asylum invasion already in 2022, but the media doesn't cover the story

OpEd: Black People Lost Their Section 8. Pritzker Gives it to Illegal Immigrants Under the Disguise of Asylum Seekers

OpEd: Black People Lost Their Section 8. Pritzker Gives it to Illegal Immigrants Under the Disguise of Asylum Seekers

OpEd: Black People Lost Their Section 8. Pritzker Gives it to Illegal Immigrants Under the Disguise of Asylum Seekers

(Chicago, IL) – This week Lori Lightfoot announced that she is accepting a bus load of illegal immigrants from Texas. This comes as Biden ordered the non enforcement of borders in Texas. Governor Abbott could not detain or do anything about these illegal immigrants breaking the law and illegally entering Texas. Since Chicago is an illegal “sanctuary city” (as they provide federal funds to people who are actively violating federal law), Governor Abbott made the move to send those people to Chicago.

Black People Have Housing Confiscated to Give to Illegal Immigrants

The Mayor, as well as Governor Pritzker, will take the money from public housing and from the black community to provide housing for illegal immigrants. The Mayor, Governor, and Tracey Scott (the head of CHA) have taken away emergency section 8 vouchers for black people. They are even trying to prosecute black people in public housing who own businesses and received pandemic loans. They are even threatening to take away these black folks’ public housing. The number of black people that they say they are looking to put out of their homes is “6,000”.

We find that this isn’t a coincidence. Because this same head of CHA, Tracey Scott in Chicago was being investigated in Minnesota for putting black people out of public housing. The same head of CHA replaced those black people with Somalians. Now Minnesota has a very large Somalian population and the result is a huge increase in black homelessness.

When CHA CEO Tracey Scott was leading the Public Housing Units in Atlanta, she was consistently under investigation. According to the Defend Glendale and Public Housing Coalition in Minnesota, the Atlanta Housing Authority displaced roughly 50,000 residents, handing them Section 8 vouchers which became increasingly hard to use in a quickly gentrifying city. The Guardian reported:

The Housing Authority came under fire for displacing communities of color and giving massive opportunities for profit to private developers.

A History of Discrimination by Tracey Scott

She has a history of putting black people in a situation where their vouchers don’t mean anything. Now she’s in a situation claiming that 6,000 black Chicago CHA residents need to be put out of their housing because they merely received a federal pandemic loan. This is a violation of their 4th and 14th amendments. It is not illegal for residents of public housing to have a business. According to federal law, specifically section 3, by law, CHA contracts are supposed to go to residents of CHA that in fact own businesses.

CHA CEO Tracey Scott breaks federal law in regards to section 3 by not giving those public housing residents that own businesses their contracts. Now she’s trying to evict them from their homes to give their home to illegal immigrants, while using the fact that they own businesses and received loans as an excuse. This is an outrageous travesty that needs to be investigated.

How is it that illegal immigrants are violating federal law, yet receive emergency vouchers. Why can’t black people get their emergency vouchers? Why are black people being kicked out of public housing?

Tracey Scott has a history of messing over black people. From Atlanta to Minnesota, and now Chicago.

It is obvious that Governor Pritzker has colluded with Mayor Lightfoot on this. Governor Pritzker alluded to this on twitter today:

Federal Funds Supporting Displacement of Black People

These people are coming to Chicago. The emergency housing money can only come from CHA. SNAP benefits are federal funds. All these funds that these illegal immigrants are receiving are unconstitutional. He’s taking money from black people on the South and West sides of Chicago. He’s then giving the money to people he thinks will vote for him. There has never been an emergency plan by this Governor to give out emergency section 8 vouchers and low income housing that have housing insecurity in the black community. Where is Tammy Duckworth? This is a federal issue.

This will affect thousands of people in the Southland who own houses and have section 8 residents. Section 8 helped these Southland lanldords keep their properties throughout the pandemic.

The progressive left in Chicago has had doubts for a long time about its current governor's heart on black people, some of whom think he's out to replace them with illegal aliens

Eric Zorn, here in 2018:

In a wiretap recording made by federal law enforcement officials investigating Blagojevich for public corruption and obtained by the Tribune, Pritzker was heard suggesting African-American Secretary of State Jesse White for the position: “Even though I know you guys aren’t like, you know, bosom buddies or anything, it covers you on the African-American thing,” he said. Pritzker said that White was “Senate material in a way that (Democratic state Senate President) Emil Jones isn’t. … He’s just, I don’t know how to say it exactly, but Emil’s a little more crass.” ...

Jones, who has not accepted Pritzker’s apology, brought up something Pritzker said in public that may prove even more damaging with Democrats and African-Americans. It was in a cable TV interview in early 2012, when Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich were vying in the GOP presidential primaries and Obama had no serious opposition for re-election.

“Are you going to vote for this president?” asked the reporter.

“We’ll have to wait and see,” said Pritzker. “I don’t know who the nominee is going to be on the Republican side. … Ultimately, as in every election, it’s going to be a choice between two people and two parties that you’re not 100 percent behind. … You just have to pick … the best of a mediocre set of choices.”

So he considered Obama mediocre? So mediocre that he might vote Republican?

John Kass: Illegal alien invasion replacing blacks began with Joe Biden's 2020 campaign invitation to illegals to storm the border

Remember kids. White replacement is a racist trope. But Black replacement, that's the real deal lol.

Here:

At least 8 million illegals have come into the U.S. invited by Biden that are savaging the Democratic cities. ...

Black Democrats are so angry about Biden’s millions of illegal aliens crowding them out of the blue cities, and feeling betrayed by Biden, Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Mayor Brandon “Panic Attacks” Johnson, that they’re publicly talking about leaving the Democrat plantation. They can see what he’s doing. He’s replacing them. ...

Remember how this all began.

It began with Joe Biden putting out the call to all illegals everywhere, to storm America’s borders and demand asylum and he would let them in.

Back when illegal immigration was a club for Paul Krugman to use against George W. Bush he made arguments he's now trying to hide

Many of the worst-off native-born Americans are hurt by immigration, especially from Mexico. Because Mexican immigrants increase the supply of less-skilled labor, driving down the wages of the worst-paid Americans. ...

It’s intellectually dishonest to say, as Bush does, that immigrants do ‘jobs that Americans will not do.’ The willingness to do a job depends on how much that job pays, and the reason some jobs pay too little to attract Americans is competition from poorly paid immigrants.

Joe Biden explicitly buying votes

In famous 2003 eulogy Senator Joe Biden, having no trouble delivering oratory, said Reagan was 85 when he and Strom Thurmond met with the then 71-year old president

"The president [Reagan] then was about 85 years old".

"And I swear to the Lord in the Lord’s house this is a true story. ...  And the President -- true story -- President looked very sternly at Strom ..."

Ronald Reagan turned 85 in 1996 during the presidency of Bill Clinton. Biden in 2003 was off by nearly fifteen years.

The Thurmond-strong-arming-the-president anecdote, if it actually happened at all, must date to late 1982 because Reagan vetoed the Biden-Thurmond crime bill on January 15, 1983, which was what the meeting Biden recounts was about.

At about the 7 minute mark (the crowd is already skeptical of the previous anecdote's truthfulness at the 3:30 mark):

Trend for lowest minimum temperature in Grand Rapids, MI 1896-2024

The trend is colder by almost 2 degrees F for lowest minimum temperature over 129 years at KGRR.

This chart shows, like the charts for heating degree days or average temperature discussed earlier, the boat anchor for temperature which is 1943-1997. The anchor is heavy enough to keep the mean minimum since 1963 lower than before it, at -9F vs. -6F, despite all the recent warming.

Mean lowest minimum temperature:

1896-1943: -5F (48yrs)

1943-1997: -10F (55yrs)

1997-2024 to date: -5F (28yrs).

Bloomberg: Covid vaccine study of 99 million vaccinated people in 8 countries proves there were vaccine injuries

I use ... and [  ] to weed out and address some of the propaganda still displayed in this slanted and quite abbreviated story, here, which still tries to minimize the danger inherent in these vaccines:

Vaccines ... against ... a coronavirus infection were linked to small increases in neurological, blood, and heart-related conditions in the largest global vaccine safety study to date.

The rare events — identified early in the pandemic [but systematically minimized, questioned, vilified, and censored] — included a higher risk of heart-related inflammation from mRNA shots made by Pfizer Inc., BioNTech SE, and Moderna Inc., and an increased risk of a type of blood clot in the brain after immunization with viral-vector vaccines such as the one developed by the University of Oxford and made by AstraZeneca Plc. ...

The new research, by the Global Vaccine Data Network, was published in the journal Vaccine last week, with the data made available via interactive dashboards to show methodology and specific findings. ...

Myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart muscle, was consistently identified following a first, second and third dose of mRNA vaccines, the study found. The highest increase in the observed-to-expected ratio was seen after a second jab with the Moderna shot. A first and fourth dose of the same vaccine was also tied to an increase in pericarditis, or inflammation of the thin sac covering the heart.

The study vindicates the many European countries which stopped recommending the shots for young men under the age of 40, but the story doesn't mention this.

The story laughably claims 1 million lives in Europe alone were saved compared with 13.5 billion doses administered worldwide, which is an improper comparison on its face.

Over 3 million people in Michigan alone never got one single jab and OMG they are still alive.

This story by Tim Stanley is both lazy and stupid, which is quite an achievement

Inside the plot to replace elderly Joe Biden

The story offers no evidence whatsoever of any such plot. It's ridiculous on its face.

And it is laughably mistaken about involuntary removal of the president:

The DNC is hierarchical, disciplined and packed with Biden supporters; there’s no mechanism in place to move against the president if he doesn’t want to go.

Of course there's a mechanism if he doesn't want to go. It's just that it has nothing to do with the DNC. It's called the 25th Amendment:

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

But Stanley's evidently never heard of it. He spends zero time, zip, zilch, nada, telling us anything about Biden's cabinet secretaries' possible support for removing Biden on grounds of senility. Stanley doesn't even speculate about why Attorney General Merrick Garland allowed Robert Hur to get away with showcasing the president's incompetence to stand trial in the first place.

Is Garland actually the ring leader of a cabinet plot to remove Biden? We know Biden has been unhappy with Garland for now many months. Maybe Hur's report was the trial balloon, hoping to sniff out support in the rest of the cabinet.

But we'll never know because Tim Stanley was too lazy to do the leg work as a reporter to find that out.

AP Obama is a little worried about the wider danger for businesses the absence of victims in the Trump case represents

Not even the New York attorney general, who filed the lawsuit against Trump, had asked for a “dissolution.”

An Associated Press investigation confirmed how unusual such a punishment would have been if carried out: Trump’s case would have been the only big business in nearly 70 years of similar cases shut down without a showing of obvious victims who suffered major financial losses. The main alleged victim of the real estate mogul’s fraud, Deutsche Bank, had itself not complained it had suffered any losses.
