LOL Kevin Williamson: He had a such good sermon going and then suddenly took the inevitable left turn with it and crashed it into a ditch filled with gobbledygook

We who have been exiles must be the new mothers and new fathers to exiles. We who have been poor and hungry, who have been powerless, who have been dependent on the kindness of others, must be splendid in our own generosity. And we who have benefited from the example of the meekest of all the men who were upon the face of the Earth — we must not forget our true heritage — must not consent to be called the sons of Pharaoh’s daughter. This pilgrim republic, fearfully and wonderfully made, was made for better things and higher things. Wealth, power, reputation — these are, at best, means to some higher end, to be used judiciously and with gratitude but never with awe. These are our instruments — they must not be our gods.

Come out from among them, and be ye separate, Americans. Come home.

More.

It never occurs to Williamson that America as the New Israel pretty much did what the Old Israel did, invading the land flowing with milk and honey where they slew all the Canaanites.

Well, almost all of them. The failure of nerve which plagues America still, most obviously in Williamson, was present already at the beginning. Now the roles are reversed and it is the Injuns who ply US with alcohol and take all our money at the casinos.

Some analogies just shouldn't be pressed too hard unless you want to join the left in wringing your hands over what our forefathers did. Doing so only leads in one other direction: The Biblical imagery coheres better with the alt-right vision of America.

Cancel, or keep getting canceled until the country is no longer yours and your posterity's.

Alt-right hates Anglo-Saxon America so much it makes Emma Lazarus a Founding Father

I'd say the alt-right tonight feels more betrayed by Trump's droning of an Iranian in Iraq than by all Trump's failures to implement his 10-point America First immigration agenda

Tells you all you need to know about their sensibilities and priorities.

Ah, content to sit out the election after Trump betrays on immigration, but droning the enemy, that's a step too far!

Phony baloney plastic banana good time rock and rolla alt-right gonna vote Democrat.

LOL: Richard Spencer imagines 6-9% of US population is effectively alt-right, a vanguard just waiting for support from many multiples of that

Time for a Lenin haircut.

Meanwhile minimum 10% of US population directly allied with already socialist military, then add Pentagon's industrial complex and finally 79.5 million owner-occupied housing units, all just waiting for The Right Man to come along and end it all.

Trump used immigration to get elected the first time, is using neo-cons to get elected the second time

It's all about election for Trump, not about policy.

Dead servants of the Iranian mullahs is a good thing. Dead mullahs would be better. You pays your money and you takes your chance.

Trump already betrayed his supporters and went soft on immigration. Killing this cancer cell from the tumor on the world isn't going to cost Trump any more votes from the alt-right than he's already lost.

Neo-con/military industrial complex votes matter more than alt-right votes in the up-coming election.

Lizard brain is way ahead of you.

The author of Bronze Age Mindset and its review by Michael Anton both seem to miss its thesis actually unfolding in our time

To paraphrase Woody Allen (whom, I hasten to add, BAP does not quote), life wants what it wants. What does it want? At the upper reaches, among the higher animals (BAP is relentlessly hierarchical), what it wants is mastery of “owned space.” “Owned space” is the most important concept introduced in Part One and the key to understanding the rest of the “exhortation,” if not necessarily the rest of the book. BAP argues that life, fundamentally, is a “struggle for space.” All life seeks to develop its powers and master the surrounding matter and space to the maximum extent possible. For the lower species, this simply means mass reproduction and enlarging habitat. For the higher animals, it means controlling terrain, dominating other species, dominating the weaker specimens within your own species, getting first dibs on prey and choice of mates, and so on. BAP sees no fundamental distinction between living in harmony with nature and mastering nature. All animals seek to master their environments to the extent that they can, and the nature of man, or of man at his best—the highest man—is to seek to master nature itself. Not in the Aristotelian sense of understanding the whole, nor in the Baconian sense of “the relief of man’s estate” via technology and plenty; more to assert and exert his own power. Indeed, BAP posits an inner kinship between the genuine scientist and the warrior; he calls the former “monsters of will.” ...

Early modernity actually offered the higher types vast opportunities to explore and conquer new space. Thus bugdom is not caused or defined by science and technology. To the contrary: science and tech at their best can form a kind of frontier that allows for man’s higher motives to find vent when and where space is constrained. For BAP, science in modern times is, or should be, a manifestation of the will to conquer space.

Sheesh, ever heard of SpaceX, Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic? The highest men are already there, diligently working to master heaven itself.

Stop the preening and get with the program.

LOL: David French declares war on the mice in the walls of your country house

The idea that there are millions of alt-righters in America is preposterous. Red State's streiff in 2016 laughably came up with 1-3% of the population, as if that were a small number. But there is no way that the alt-right is as numerous as the LGBT population of the United States.

In the year 2000 the forerunner to today's alt-right, Patrick J. Buchanan, received just 0.43% of the popular vote, fewer than 500,000. And unlike David French or Richard Spencer, Pat was the likeable candidate!

David French is a Presbyterian. He has lit his hair on fire. That the recent shooters were white nationalists is kooky on its face. French is literally communicating hysteria.

Conservatism Inc. is deeply threatened by alternative ideas because it is uncertain of itself, even as alt-righter Richard Spencer is uncertain of himself. Both of them need an enemy, and both exaggerate its size.

There's more than Trump derangement syndrome afoot in the land.

You are only seven months behind the curve, buddy.

David French and Ben Shapiro join up in NeverTrump redux, just in time for 2020

Responding to Joe Biden's announcement of his candidacy for president, Ben Shapiro oddly saw it as an opportunity to bash President Trump yesterday, laughably resurrecting the long debunked "fine people hoax" of Charlottesville to riff on Trump's weakness for reelection in 2020.

Trump's still a racist, you see.

Shapiro might as well have been speaking as a paid member of the Biden campaign. That he wasn't speaks to an uglier animus which is willing to lie in order to smear. The goal doesn't care about the facts.

David French, meanwhile, has been in Shapiro's corner of late, defending him on Twitter against recent WaPo stories ludicrously painting Shapiro as alt-right.

Now French is out in TIME, tag-teaming with Shapiro in criticism of Trump as, you guessed it, weak:

What a cohencidence!

In French's reading, Trump is weak because the Mueller report shows him not to be the alpha male he makes himself out to be. If the voters ever find out, he's finished, you see.

Leave it to the impotence of NeverTrump to fixate on fantasies and miss the real source of Trump's 2020 vulnerability.

If the public which elected Trump realizes that the border is even more wide open than it was before he was elected, that's when Trump will be finished.

But, of course, NeverTrump is just fine with wide open borders.

The public won't be hearing that from them.
