Wow, WaPo's Glenn Kessler almost becomes Rush Limbaugh, doubts Bernie's $1 trillion bailout claim

If anything, Bernie underestimates the scope of the secret loans during the financial crisis ten years ago. The Freedom of Information Act inquiry which brought them to light went all the way to the Supreme Court. Ben Bernanke only relented at the last second.

Discount Window lending behind the scenes during the crisis period soared into the multi-trillions of dollars by the time it ended in 2010 while everyone was fixated on the shiny object known as TARP ($700 billion, about a tenth the size of the generally accepted figure of $7.7 trillion). That's probably why TARP was undertaken to be honest: Oh look! A deer!

The DW loans were made to all kinds of entities for whom normal lending had disappeared. In too many cases very questionable collateral was put up. The loans were ultra-cheap, at rates unavailable to homeowners defaulting on their comparatively much more expensive mortgages because they had lost their jobs. Many of the loans rolled over and over and over again for protracted periods to keep the entities from going under, while Bush & Co. and then Obama & Co. did nothing for Joe Six-pack. Many millions lost their homes while businesses which should have gone bankrupt did not.

Hard to believe this clueless so-called fact checker still has a job.

We are into Trump's third year as president and Ingraham Angle is still blaming policy failures on Obama holdovers

When exactly is Trump going to become president of the United States? After 2020? We don't have time for the training wheels to come off.

Maybe Trump's policy failures on immigration are HIS FAULT. Blaming Obama holdovers is ridiculous when Bush 41 cleaned house on accession by firing all the Reagan administration holdovers OVERNIGHT.

This reminds me of nothing so much as the Limbaugh Theorem, not holding the president accountable for his own policies, except now Republicans are doing it.

Trump is doing nothing because that's the way he wants it. It's politics, not policy, and for playing politics with the nation's integrity and security, for that alone he shouldn't be president right now, let alone in 2020.

Trump is every bit the scoundrel now his past life says he always was.

Sentencing document shows Michael Cohen had administration ambitions

Rush Limbaugh had this right today: Cohen Caught in Multiple Lies Again.

THE GOVERNMENT’S SENTENCING MEMORANDUM:

[These crimes] each involve deception, and were each motivated by
personal greed and ambition. ... his desire for even greater wealth and
influence precipitated an extensive course of criminal conduct ... .

His actions suggest that Cohen relished the status of ultimate fixer --
a role that he embraced as recently as May 2018. Cohen was driven by
a desire to further ingratiate himself with a potential future President --
for whose political success Cohen himself claimed credit --
and arranged for the payments in an attempt to increase his
power and influence. ...

Cohen privately bragged to friends and reporters, including in recorded
conversations, that he had made the payment ... .

Cohen’s criminal violations of the federal election laws were also stirred,
like his other crimes, by his own ambition and greed. During and after the
campaign, Cohen privately told friends and colleagues, including in seized
text messages, that he expected to be given a prominent role and title in
the new administration. When that did not materialize, Cohen found a way
to monetize his relationship with and access to the President.

Rush Limbaugh claims to be the cutting edge of societal evolution, but can't help a caller from Colorado on the National Popular Vote

It's a frickin' end run around the constitution, but Limbaugh just yammers "I'll have to look into it".

Pathetic.

Clueless Statist Greer fetches conservative Hispanic bone tossed by Rush Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh has done this throughout his career to co-opt the rubes on behalf of the GOPe, this time an alt-righter, probably an Elton John Fan like Rush. Hilarious.

Donald Trump is a self-hating fool and a wimp, and so is Mr. Missing in Action, Rush Limbaugh

Only a self-hating fool and a wimp would have signed this bill, and only a self-hating fool and wimp would defend the self-hating fool and wimp who signed it. It's like Steve King voting to censure himself.

Donald Trump has proven himself over and over again to be unworthy of being our leader (repeal and replace Obamacare fizzled, tax cuts for corporations not for working stiffs, outrageous federal spending increases, and now a complete cave on immigration, all in two years!), and Rush Limbaugh has proven himself over and over again to be unworthy of being our spokesman for still defending the guy responsible for it, same as ever.

We need people in charge of our movement who have a killer instinct, instead of the lay down and die instinct on display in this disgusting episode of betrayal and talk radio sycophancy.

Terrible Budget Bill Will Be Used Against Trump in 2020:

I read enough of this [border bill] to know that the things in this bill are a giant middle finger to Donald Trump [By signing it Trump gave HIMSELF the finger]. ... This is an Obama-era policy that has been re-implemented in this budget bill [Obviously Trump was just kidding about promising to reverse the two DACA executive orders immediately ... tick tock tick tock 2+years says the clock]. ... And don’t forget, folks, there are a lot of Republicans in on this [Like Donald Trump!]. ... I went back and forth, too, on signing this or not and shutting down [says the lazy ass without principles who could have read everything being said on Twitter on the Thursday before by reliable people on our side calling for a veto of this pig of a bill but didn't and sat silent when he should have called for a veto like Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter]. ... You can say goodbye to anything we or Trump wants coming out of Congress from the moment the Democrats win the House, over [Funny how Ronald Reagan got tax cuts passed without control of Congress]. ... But, you know, elections have consequences, and there are a lot of Republicans that retired [Still blaming less than 10 retirements which flipped for what was a 40+ seat catastrophe because Trump and Republicans failed to deliver on the campaign agenda]. ... Fifty-five Republicans quit! They resigned [total lie].

There's profound meaning in Rush Limbaugh's incessant advertizing for sex drugs on his show

It reflects the impotence of the Republican brand to achieve anything since Rush has been on the air. Republicans have utterly failed to advance conservatism or restrain liberalism for thirty years.

Rush is full of it, saying Trump has no leverage

Trump has POLITICAL POWER. It's called the veto. He should use it! Make the Congress own this piece of shit border deal.

WAKE UP AND SMELL THE CONSTITUTION you boob, you dog, you spineless weasel, you limp dick sex drug profiteer.

Twice the man of either Hannity or Limbaugh says "don't sign it"

Limbaugh can spend most of the opening telling us how bad this bill is but can't say "veto"

He's useless. The big mouse on the right.

The plan here must be to spin and spin and spin until Limbaugh comes on at noon

Then Rush can 'splain it to you, Lucy.

Like he says, "I'll tell you what to think".

Lol, Limbaugh keeps trying to point everyone away from the Dec 20th transcript

He just claimed the instant message story was Dec 19th when it was Dec 20th.

Check your own archives, Rush!

Rush Limbaugh 12/20/2018: "Trump had better not sign that", 10 minutes later gets instant message

Lol, Rush is pretending again today that it's just a coincidence he got the instant message right after warning Trump on 12/20:

The President Tells Me It’s Money or Nothing

... If it’s that, then Trump had better not sign that. There has to be some serious appropriation. So, I mean, it’s time for applause. (clapping) Yes. This is a great, great first step. But it’s not a full-fledged veto. Not that we want a veto; don’t misunderstand. This is simply the president telling the Republicans, “I’m not signing this. There’s no border security in it.” So now the Republicans are gonna go back and put some border security in their version of the continuing resolution. We’ll know what that is soon enough.

Then when they finish doing that and they vote on it — and it will pass — they’ll send it over to The Turtle, Mitch McConnell in the Senate, and then they will deal with it. The Senate was very happy to have not a penny in this CR for border security. So it looks like the onus now is… It looks like it’s on the House, but it’s actually gonna be on the Senate, because we have to assume the House is gonna put something in this. Meadows was dead serious about this. Ryan? I don’t know. But it’s still his House. He’s still speaker for a while. So that’s where we are. But it’s great news that the president refused to sign this.

Now we have to keep our eyes on what they come up with as border security.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Okay, folks, this is good. This is interesting. I just got a phone call. Well, I got an instant message. It’s the equivalent of you getting a phone call. That’s how people communicate with me, particularly during the program. It’s impossible to use the phone during the program. Anyway, I just said less than 10 minutes ago in my translation of what’s happened here, “The president told Republicans he’s not going to sign this. It’s not a veto yet, but he’s not gonna sign it until there’s border security in it.” ...

So I get this direct message: “You tell Rush that if there’s no money in this, it’s getting vetoed. If there’s no money — if there’s no money for a wall — I’m vetoing this, plain and simple.” This was the message that I just got, and I trust it and I believe it to be the case. By the way, it’s a legitimate question. I mean, the way the media reports this — and it was not just the media. It was Paul Ryan saying, “The president cares deeply about border security. So we’re gonna go back and we’re gonna get some border security in this thing.

Kellyanne Conway baldly lies on The Rush Limbaugh Show, claims over 7 million jobs created

You don't lose control of the US House after creating over 7 million jobs in just over two years.

These people are blind, but the voters are not.

There is NO measure which comes even close to over 7 million new jobs.

Total nonfarm payrolls (Establishment Survey) between Nov 2016 and Jan 2019 are up 5.3 million, seasonally adjusted, 1.7 million not seasonally adjusted.

Civilian employment (Household Survey) is up 4.5 million seasonally adjusted, 2.6 million not seasonally adjusted.

The sum of usually full time and usually part time (Household Survey) is up net 4.5 million seasonally adjusted, 2.6 million not seasonally adjusted (mirrors civilian employment level).

The employment-population ratio is up from 59.8% to 60.7%, an increase of 4.6 million jobs from 152.2 million to 156.8 million.

And 78% of these new jobs have gone to minorities, not to the white majority.

CONWAY: . . . He’s going to talk about the booming economy, and it is the Trump economy. Over seven million jobs created, wages are up, unemployment is down, small business formation is going well. People are just… They’re back to work. We’re a country that works.
