Core pce inflation is out and shows itself running ahead of the 10-year US Treasury yield for four consecutive years 2020-2023, which is unprecedented

Jerome Powell is the biggest phony inflation fighter the country has ever seen.

He was appointed by Trump! So much winning!

Core pce inflation previously exceeded the ten year yield in 1974-75 and in 2012 (barely).

The Fed's primary inflation-fighting tool has been the Federal Funds Rate, but it let inflation run wildly out of control before even lifting a finger to stop it in March 2022 when the Fed finally acted and started raising the rate.

It is a shameful episode which has benefited businesses which hiked prices higher than inflation to goose profits, and the federal government which desperately needed to devalue its mounting debts, all at the expense of the average American.

The lack of outrage over this is a study in the depth of American servitude. Slavery didn't end in 1865 for African Americans. It became the common lot of us all.

New Susquehanna poll shows Biden +8 in Pennsylvania, Republicans who missed Quinnipiac poll on 1/8 already showing Biden +3 there think this is new

Polls didn't just suddenly turn in PA.

The Susquehanna poll shows Trump underperforming with Republicans at 77%.

That is probably because of senior citizens.

Previously Quinnipiac showed PA senior citizens overwhelmingly supporting Biden 60-37, and Trump with his lowest favorable rating among seniors, at 33%.

They probably had friends who died of COVID and blame Trump.

Mediate's Jan 6 for dummies: When Pence ignored Trump’s plea, a mob stormed the Capitol lol

Here.

Yeah, if only Mike Pence had been at the center of this universe.

Pence issued his statement disavowing any unilateral authority over electoral votes just as he began to preside over the Joint Session of Congress, at about 1:02pm. He couldn't have cut it any closer, holding his cards close to his chest until the very last second. He had still been working on this letter at 9:00am.

A large mob had already gathered around the Capitol by 11:00am, with bad intent, and eventually succeeded in pushing back the Capitol police to the Capitol steps before the time Pence even began to perform his duties inside, at about 12:53pm, or issue his statement.

It took these rioters more than another hour to breach the Capitol, which subsequently brought proceedings in the Senate to a halt at 2:13pm, and in the House at 2:29pm.

Trump didn't finish speaking at the Ellipse 1.6 miles away until 1:10pm., a 30-minute walk from the Capitol, just after which the Joint Session had split up to debate separately the Arizona slate of electors.

Meanwhile Trump, Michael Moore's human Molotov Cocktail, was already having lunch by 1:25pm, enjoying the mayhem.

Long after Red Sea attacks began, ridiculous Biden administration appeasers finally re-adopt Trump designation of Houthis as terrorists which they had revoked in February 2021

The U.S. State Department on Wednesday designated the Iranian-backed, Yemen-based Houthi rebels as specially designated global terrorists, or SDGTs, in an effort to deter further attacks against commercial ships crossing the Red Sea. ...

The State Department under President Joe Biden revoked the Houthis’ designation as a foreign terrorist organization, or FTO, in Feb. 2021, just a month after it issued the label under former President Donald Trump.

The reversal came in response to calls from the United Nations and humanitarian groups who said that the terrorist classification and its associated sanctions were “accelerating Yemen’s slide into large-scale famine.”

Three years later, after months of Red Sea attacks, the Houthis have regained their spot on a U.S. terrorist list.

More.

Oh for Pete's sake, the low temperature in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Feb 1, 2016 was +28F

Only 14.4% of registered Republicans participated...

. . . in 2016, some 187,000 people cast ballots, a record high equating to 29% of registered Republicans.

Ridiculous: It was -18F in Iowa yesterday, you'd stay home too

SITTING OUT '24? CAUCUS TURNOUT MUCH LOWER THAN EXPECTED...

Old Republicans in Iowa yesterday: Why should I bother to go, Trump's just going to win anyway.

'Lack of enthuasim'... lol

That'h eathy for you to thay:

I mean, I get it. Republicans are going to vote for Trump because he's been treated very badly by this country. And I don't blame them. He has been.

But it is perilous to assume that non-Republicans share this animus in enough numbers for Trump to wrest control of the election in November. North of 40% of Republicans in Iowa don't share it enough to vote for their ex-president. Biden is a horrible alternative, but it still looks to me like we're going to get more of him, good and hard.

Meanwhile, of Ron DeSantis:

Dilatory fortune plays the jilt
With the brave, noble, honest, gallant man,
To throw herself away on fools and knaves.

Biden is annihilating Trump in Pennsylvania among those 65+ in new Quinnipiac poll yesterday which Real Clear Politics still doesn't link to lol

Quinnipiac poll in Pennsylvania, here:

Question 5: Biden 60% Trump 37% among those 65+ (2-way race)

Question 6: Biden 53% Trump 34% among those 65+ (5-way race)

Question 8: Biden favorable rating is highest among those 65+ at 54%

Question 9: Trump favorable rating is lowest among those 65+ at 33%

Question 20: Biden's job approval highest among those 65+ at 55%.

Older Americans haven't forgotten what a disaster Trump was for them personally.

Trump lost older people already early in 2020 because he minimized the pandemic, which ended up victimizing older people the most, whose deaths were north of 70% of the total.

Brad Parscale tried to warn him. He got fired instead.
