CDC watchers are abuzz trying to explain away data showing coronavirus cases are higher among the boosted than the merely double-jabbed

Remember when there weren't supposed to be ANY cases among the vaccinated?

Rachel Madcow, 3/29/21:

now we know that the vaccines work well enough that the virus stops with every vaccinated person.

These people still haven't owned up to that fact, nor to their responsibility for the continuing spread of the disease.

It's June and Tennessee still can't get its act together and report any breakthrough cases, hospitalizations, and deaths for 2022

Breakthrough hospitalizations and deaths in December 2021 were running close to 20% and cases just over 30%.

Omicron in 2022 is a bitch, eh?

US COVID-19: The Big Picture, through May 31, 2022

Vaccines have done nothing to stop the spread and little to reduce deaths in any significant way.

Over the last eleven years 2010-2020, heart disease in the United States has killed 1729 people per day on average.

Cancer comes in a close second at 1620 per day.

COVID-19 remains the third leading cause of death, averaging 1221 deaths per day to date, 822 days after the first death on February 29, 2020.

The best explanation of the data so far remains that the virus has evolved to spread more easily at the expense of lethality, otherwise the explosion in cases in 2022 would have resulted in far many more deaths than we have at present. Deaths per day in the third year of the pandemic remain relatively constant when measured over time.

And who is most victimized?

California, America's largest state by population, continues to show that COVID-19 infects people 65 and over the least, but kills them the most by far. Since May 2021, deaths among people 65 and over in California have changed little, constituting 74% of deaths then and 71% a year later.

This is despite the fact that people 65 and older became the most vaccinated segment of the US population in 2021.

CDC reports that today 95% of them nationally have received at least one dose, 91.2% are fully vaccinated, 69.7% are boosted once, and 29.7% are boosted twice. In California to date nearly 85% of people 65+ have been fully vaccinated with nearly 76% of those boosted.

There needs to be a massive shift in the messaging of the medical establishment away from thinking the vaccines are a panacea for anybody, toward preventing senior deaths by reducing their comorbidities and quickly treating them with drugs like Paxlovid when they become infected with coronavirus:

In reducing mortality, Arbel said the treatment showed a very high benefit in patients 65 and older - an 81% risk reduction. There were no observed benefits in younger adults, who are at less risk of dying from COVID.

COVID-19 in the US in April 2022

COVID-19 in the US in April 2022

Monthly deaths in April were the third lowest since the first wave of the pandemic.

Cases in April meanwhile ticked up slightly, though mass self-testing makes that an increasingly dodgy indicator. Many cases are escaping tabulation.

Deaths per day in 2022 through April (120 days) fell to about 1,400 vs. about 1,131/day in 2020 (306 days) and about 1,310/day in 2021:

Deaths per day in Jan 2022: 2,001

Deaths per day in Feb 2022: 2,247

Deaths per day in Mar 2022:   980

Deaths per day in Apr 2022:    426.

Deaths per day in May 2022 have ticked up to about 497 through the 11th.

The goal is to get this down to 100 deaths per day, to make it more like the flu.

Is China canceling Xi Jinping over Zero Covid Policy?

Backlash against the government’s harsh approach is fueling widespread disgust of China‘s leadership, including Mr. Xi who has boasted of taking direct control of anti-pandemic measures. An estimated 330 million Chinese are currently in health-related lockdowns in some 45 cities since March, even as restrictions on gatherings and travel in other developed countries are being lifted. ...

The party media organ People’s Daily on May 8 also failed to run one of the usual glowing photos of Mr. Xi on its front page. Instead, only Mr. Li, the premier, and another party leader were mentioned.

Denmark halts vaccination program, which failed miserably to prevent the massive December-February outbreak and 3,500 additional deaths

74% of the Danish population was fully vaxxed on September 19, 2021, rising to 80% by January 6, 2022.

They still got creamed.

Almost 3,500 people have died of COVID-19 in Denmark since September 19th, 57% of the total COVID-19 deaths in Denmark to date.

This is a MASSIVE failure.

The liars in Denmark and in the news, however, sweep all that under the rug and report this instead:

... many people have been infected since the omicron variant became the dominant strain of the virus, [the Danish health authority] said, meaning immunity levels among the population are high.

“We are in a good place,” Bolette Soborg, unit manager at the National Board of Health, commented.

“We have good control of the epidemic, which seems to be subsiding. Admission rates [to hospitals] are stable and we also expect them to fall soon. Therefore, we are rounding up the mass vaccination program against Covid-19.”

... the shots authorized for use in the West remain effective at preventing serious infection, hospitalization and death from Covid-19.

Paxlovid rebound in viral loads occurs in about 10% of recipients

A host of anecdotal reports began popping up in the past week of people taking Paxlovid experiencing viral remission, negative rapid test and all, and then getting sick again - positive rapid test and all.

More.

LOL, NYC has fewer than 100 teachers you'd actually want teaching your kids

The ones using fake vaccination cards, of course.

From the story:

The New York City Department of Education is placing dozens of educators on unpaid leave to investigate whether they tried to use fake COVID-19 vaccine cards to meet city requirements to continue working in the school system.

School spokesperson Nathaniel Styer said, "Fraudulent vaccination cards are not only illegal, they also undermine the best line of protection our schools have against COVID-19 – universal adult vaccination. We immediately moved to put these employees - fewer than 100 - on leave without pay." ...

The United Federation of Teachers, which represents district employees, says approximately 70 of its members were contacted by the Department of Education. ...

The FDNY and the Sanitation Department have also had issues with fake vaccination cards by department employees.

Vaccine failure: Gridiron Club dinner on April 2 was a superspreader event among the triple-jabbed elites of Washington

New York City Mayor Eric Adams tested positive for the virus on Sunday after waking up with a raspy voice. Adams attended the Gridiron Dinner in Washington, an annual event that brings together prominent government officials and journalists. At least 80 people who attended the dinner, the first since 2019, have tested positive for Covid including several senior government officials, according to Gridiron Club President Tom DeFrank.

Attorney General Merrick Garland, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Reps. Joaquin Castro and Adam Schiff, and Sen. Susan Collins all tested positive after attending the dinner.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D- Calif., also tested positive for Covid last week but wasn’t experiencing any symptoms and didn’t attend the Gridiron Dinner. Pelosi’s positive result came a day after she stood next to President Joe Biden at a bill-signing ceremony. Biden, who also did not attend the Gridiron Dinner, subsequently tested negative for Covid.

More.

In calendar year 2021 in the US 99.85% didn't die of COVID, with mass vaccination, and in calendar year 2020 in the US 99.89% didn't die, with no mass vaccination.

Abortion has left a "million empty spaces" every damn year since 1973 but we're supposed to view the COVID-19 death toll as cruel somehow

Million empty spaces: Chronicling Covid's cruel American toll...

A reckoning is surely coming, and a million dead from COVID-19 is nothing compared to the utter evil cruelty and complacency of Americans in the face of this unspeakable holocaust of over 60 million.

We're as bad as any of the evil perpetrators of communist democide in China or Russia.

Remember last fall when a bunch of Nobel economists assured us that gobs more spending by Joe Biden wouldn't have serious inflationary impacts?

Here's what the ring leader of Tom Nichols' vaunted expert class of economists had to say at the time:

Some, however, have invoked fears of inflation as a reason to not undertake these investments. This view is short-sighted. ... We need safe school buildings and bridges, and affordable child and elder care, whether inflation is 2% or 5%. With the investments being financed by tax increases, the inflationary impacts will be at most negligible ...

The Build Back Better package ... would transform the U.S. economy to be more efficient, equitable, sustainable, and prosperous for the long run, without presenting an inflationary threat.

From Joe Stiglitz' letter last September, here. Robert Shiller of all people signed on to this load of hooey. Carl Schramm unloaded on all this yesterday, here.

Stiglitz wrote that with a straight face when inflation had already soared to 5.3% in July. The orgy of coronavirus spending in 2020-2021 was already stoking the inflation engine, but the experts then simply ignored it, and called for more! more! more!

Now look where we are, even without more.

Government spending in the United States hasn't been financed by tax increases in decades. We wouldn't be $30 trillion in the hole if it were. It's financed by borrowing, and the interest payments on that borrowing progressively accumulate to crowd-out other spending. One day soon interest payments on the debt will become the biggest part of the budget, severely limiting our ability to allocate resources responsibly.

US COVID-19 cases and deaths both steeply declined in March 2022

There were about 980 deaths per day in March 2022 from COVID-19 in the United States.

Normal flu deaths per day in an average year are 98.

COVID-19 remains at least ten times more deadly than influenza as Omicron becomes dominant.

There were about 948 deaths per day in 2020, and about 1,310 per day in 2021.

So far in 2022 deaths per day are 1,726 through March.

Case counts are increasingly unreliable as mass self-testing, which usually goes unreported, becomes more commonplace.

The word "spinach" does not occur in the article headlined by Drudge

 Broccoli, Spinach Wards Off?

Failure by US health authorities to count COVID-19 cases in March 2022 is causing the case fatality rate to soar

Case fatality rates in the US

January 2022: 0.30% (relatively few deaths compared with enormous case counts over 20m yielded this)
February 2022: 1.59% (consistent with adequate case counting as in 2020 and 2021)
March 2022 to the 23rd: 3.00% (case counting goes in the toilet)

2021 average: 1.38%
2020 average: 1.73%
