Sarah Palin accuses Rep. Steve King of being Ted Cruz' dirty little trickster

'Cruz's campaign chairman, U.S. Representative Steve King, is lying, and good for Dr. Ben Carson for calling this out. King, who's previously asked for and received my endorsement, time and resources to support his own election, is still lying about my altruistic support of Mr. Trump, and he's refused to provide any evidence to the contrary. And, this U.S. Congressman actually lied to his own constituents on behalf of Cruz, regarding a good man, Dr. Carson. He told voters Carson was dropping out of the Presidential race immediately before the Iowa caucus, causing a relative uproar inside the process, so the word would spread and he could rack up more votes for his candidate, Cruz. That's a dirty trick. Dr. Carson deserved better. The voters deserved better!'

The dirty tweeter: Republican US Rep. Steve King (IA-4) was Ted Cruz' dirty trickster last night

King spread a rumor in a tweet that Ben Carson was dropping out of the race, even though he wasn't, in order to queer the vote.

Story here:

"The tweet was sent at 8:20pm EST, when the caucuses were ongoing."

That's right. Real Clear Politics did not call the race until 10:30pm EST.

ABC poll has Cruz gaining at expense of Carson (5) and Rubio (1), Trump down 1 point from previous

Trump climbs 2 points to 41% in latest CNN poll, Cruz climbs 1 point, Rubio drops 2, Carson plunges 4

Laugh of the day: Tom DeLay says Donald Trump is a novice who needs to learn from first term novices Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz

'Is Donald Trump a "novice" Christian and "novice" conservative? "Know those who labor among you," says First Thessalonians 5:12. Do evangelical and Catholic Christians, along with conservatives in general really know Donald Trump? ... Trump would do well to learn from Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina and other candidates who speak evangelical Christianity with fluent ease because they really do have God deep in their lives, and not just as a political facade.'

Memo to DeLay: Trump is a mainstream Presbyterian, not an evangelical, who incidentally has dominated the race since he entered it while the novices from the Senate lag far behind him.

Fading Carson poses as the kinder, gentler candidate on illegal immigration in Iowa appearance

Here's the lead:

ORANGE CITY — Ben Carson on Friday jabbed at the strict immigration policies of Republican opponents while outlining a strategy he deems “humane and reasonable” for undocumented immigrants.

Carson is not aiming for much and therefore won't get much if elected.

Separately, Carson recently said here that he'd be a one-term president:

"If I'm successful in this endeavor to become president of the United States, it's very likely I would be a one-term president," Carson said at a Republican gathering in Las Vegas on Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reported. "Because there are some tough things we have to attack."

As successful as Carson has been in his career, politically he is suffering from a lack of imagination and ambition, which is already working against him.

Blue state Republicans contribute a majority of convention delegates but only 37% of the primary vote

Which is why Republican presidential nominees tend to be more moderate than rank and file Republicans.

From the story here:

"Blue-state Republicans have already propelled moderates in the 2016 money chase. According to Federal Election Commission filings, donors in the 18 states (plus Washington, D.C.) that have voted Democratic in every presidential election since 1992 have accounted for 45 percent of Rubio’s total itemized contributions, 45 percent of Bush’s, 53 percent of Fiorina’s and 85 percent of Chris Christie’s. By contrast, they’ve provided just 20 percent of Cruz’s contributions and 36 percent of Carson’s. For comparison, blue-state Republicans cast just 37 percent of all votes in the 2012 GOP primaries. But their real mojo lurks in the delegate chase. ... there are 1,247 delegates at stake in Obama-won states, compared with just 1,166 in Romney states."

Reince Priebus' brokered convention scheming angers Ben Carson, who threatens to leave the GOP

From the story here:

'“I am prepared to lose fair and square, as I am sure is Donald,” Carson said. “But I will not sit by and watch a theft. I intend on being the nominee. If I am not, the winner will have my support. If the winner isn’t our nominee then we have a massive problem.”'

Carson calls Politico story a lie, but MSM repeats it as a fact

http://www.cnbc.com/2015/11/06/carson-got-caught-who-stands-to-benefit.html

http://www.woodradio.com/onair/the-insider-48410/developing-ben-carson-admits-to-fabricating-14102408

That second one is a real howler. A Rush Limbaugh affiliate, Wood Radio in Grand Rapids could actually monitor the broadcast to learn Carson's campaign says the story is a lie but would rather just go with the lie.

Carson campaign denies it admitted to fabricating anything, calls Politico story a total lie

Rush Limbaugh is all over the story today.

Politico attempts to discredit Carson's claims to being offered the full ride to West Point

The story tries to make hay with his claim to being offered a full scholarship at West Point when there isn't any such thing "per se", but admits that with an appointment "all costs are covered". Carson was evidently encouraged to apply by General Westmoreland at some point based on his qualifications and interest, but declined to do so in favor of a medical education.

Carson's story may stretch the facts and err in details but overall remains a plausible if understandably biased retelling of his ROTC experience in high school.

Who would fault a poor black kid from Detroit for emphasizing that a full ride through West Point had been within his reach?

Answer: the liberal hacks at Politico.
