Ann Coulter goes off the rails, blames the Tea Party for Obamacare

 She forgets that Obamacare was passed in March 2010, months before the "Tea Party" swept the US House in an historic win with the help of Freedom Works & Co.

. . . the Tea Party candidates lost us a lot of races and Senate seats. We would not have Obamacare if it weren't for a lot of the Tea Party candidates running against incumbent candidates.

Hello. Republicans won the US House in 2010, and the US Senate in 2014, the year Obamacare went live.

Methinks Ann is jealous that Republicans actually won that 2010 election because of indignation over mortgage bailouts instead of over something else. The Tea Party's origin was in 2009 after all, not 2010.

Recall that Rush Limbaugh blamed the faceless conservative "base", too, when McCain lost. But Ann names names, calling out Trump himself over and over (he has deserved it), Mitch McConnell (perennially), and now the Tea Party. Yeah, the Tea Party got co-opted for sure, but she's rewriting history here because she's pissed so many Trump aligned candidates have won their primaries, believing (hoping?) they will lose in November, you know, like they "lost" in 2010.

Well I sure hope so.

Ann spent years saying Obamacare was the number one issue before coming to prioritize immigration, maintaining as she did that illegal aliens were the number one beneficiaries of Obamacare. Now she blames everyone else for saying so, too.

Her irrational outbursts and ad hominem arguments are her own best case for repeal of the 19th Amendment.

Make up your mind, woman.

Jimmy Carter may very well be as upset as the next guy from Tehran that Sir Ahmed Salman Rushdie [Ibn Rushd] has survived the knife attack

 Jimmy Carter doesn't have to work too hard to be unlikable, but he does it anyway.

Rushdie for his part, like Rush Limbaugh, is a serial monogamist who can't seem to find a wife he likes, or who likes him.

Or maybe the wives just couldn't stand living under the cloud of the Ayatollah's 1989 fatwa, after which Rushdie divorced three times.

Carter threw gasoline on the fatwa fire with this piece in the paper of record not even three weeks after the fatwa was issued.

 

Rush Limbaugh, MD, was only off about coronavirus vs. flu deaths in 2020 by about 6.5 times

Rush's coronavirus death statistic ended up being off by about only 6.5 times, per the CDC leading causes of death data for 2020 below.

Rush died in 2021 of the second leading cause of death in 2020.

There were approximately 20.024 million cases of COVID-19 in 2020, so 1.75% died according to the CDC data.

CDC estimates an average of 29.6 million cases of influenza annually 2010-2020. Deaths from influenza and pneumonia of 53,417 in 2020, below, is 0.18% of that, a far lower rate of death than for any form of COVID-19, heh heh.

The rate of death for COVID-19 was thus far, far worse than for influenza . . . by about 9.7 times in 2020. 

Republicans hate it when the Consumer Price Index declines, as it just did from June to July 2022

 It causes cognitive dissonance. Zero increase to the index, zero percent inflation!

Shouldn't they be able to understand Rush Limbaugh style math by now when they hear it from the president himself? Or was the Rush Limbaugh Show all for nothing?

Rush Limbaugh's hero Angelo Codevilla was quite mistaken about Russia's ambitions in Ukraine

In "What is Russia to Us?" here Codevilla vainly imagined Russia to be self-limited by the sobering lessons it has learned from its history: 

Today, [John Quincy Adams] would be confident that Russia realizes it cannot control Ukraine except for its Russian part, or the Baltics, never mind the states of Eastern Europe. ...

Adams would not hide the fact that U.S. policy, implemented by ordinary diplomacy, is to foster the Baltic States’, and especially Ukraine’s, independence. But he would know and sincerely convey to Russia that their independence depends on themselves, and that he regards it as counterproductive to try making them into American pawns or even to give the impression that they may be. He would trust in a Ukraine that had stopped longing for the borders that Stalin had fixed for it in 1927 and Khrushchev augmented in 1954, in a Ukraine retrenching into its Western identity (as, for example, by asserting its Orthodox church’s independence from Russia’s), and that is standing firmly on its own feet.
