LOL Al Gore flunked out of divinity school but still preaches a secular apocalypse which will never happen and isn't happening now

A country teeming with sectarian believers in eschatology of one kind or another groomed us for these idiots.

Rush Limbaugh conservatism is so over, if it ever existed

The worst thing about the announcement of Clay Travis and Buck Sexton being hired by Premiere Radio Networks to fill the noon to three once occupied by Rush Limbaugh is that rushlimbaugh.com is promoting this. That wouldn't be happening without the support of Rush's widow.

Never mind what ex-CIA employee Buck Sexton agreeing to team up with this guy says about him, Travis is the last person to whom Rush's audience would ever warm:

A self-described "radical moderate" who is pro-choice and against the death penalty, Travis said he voted for former President Barack Obama twice and never voted Republican. In 2016, Travis voted for Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party. As an undergrad, Travis interned for U.S. Representative [Democrat] Bob Clement for four years while in college at George Washington University. In 2000, he worked on Al Gore's presidential campaign. Travis was hired to work on U.S. Representative [Democrat] Jim Cooper's 2002 congressional campaign but was fired for wrecking Cooper's wife's car.

Premiere rolled the dice on this duo and came up with snake eyes. They will have to build an entirely different audience, but it sure as hell won't be a conservative one.

You couldn't have asked for a better recipe to blow-up conservative talk radio.

Looks intentional to me. Is Travis on the Democrat payroll?

Just like that EIB, like Rush Limbaugh, passes into oblivion.

Rush The Ridiculous must be reading online again, claims Aristippus of Cyrene was the first to say "Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die"

The line quoted here is not actually attributed to Aristippus as a quotation, but rather as a conclusion of his philosophy, which in its turn goes too far. As usual Rush reads the first hit on Al Gore's amazing internet, reads it badly, and believes it.

Skull full of mush much?

Epicurus is traditionally credited with the idea because we have an actual line which is similar, but it is so widespread in antiquity it is difficult to know who first came up with it.

At any rate the ethical hedonism taught by both Aristippus and Epicurus involved self-mastery, not license.

Not that the licentious sense was unknown in antiquity.

The Greek geographer Strabo (64BC-24AD) knew it, purportedly from an Assyrian inscription on the tomb of Sardanapallus, legendary last king of Assyria, who was legendarily decadent:

Sardanapallus, the son of Anacyndaraxes, built Anchiale and Tarsus in one day. 'Eat, drink, be merry, because all things else are not worth this,' meaning the snapping of the fingers. -- Strabo, Geographica, 14.5.9f.

Isaiah the prophet knew it in the 8th century BC, antedating any Greek knowledge by hundreds of years:

And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die. -- Isaiah 22:13.

And of course Paul of Tarsus knew it in the middle of the 1st century AD, which is how most of us in the Christian West know the lines:

If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.  -- I Corinthians 15:32.

Here endeth the lesson.

There Rush goes again, lying about Republican retirements in 2018, blaming them for loss of the House

Just 13 House districts out of 52 flipped parties, 3 Dem to Rep and 10 Rep to Dem. Rush could have used Al Gore's amazing internet and found the correct information in seconds, but he's too damn lazy and stupid.

Here's Ballotpedia's article on the subject:

A total of 52 representatives did not seek re-election to their U.S. House districts:

18 Democratic members of the U.S. House [10 retired from public office]
34 Republican members of the U.S. House [23 retired from public office]

In total, 13 of the 52 districts changed party hands. Ten seats flipped from Republican to Democrat. Three seats flipped from Democrat to Republican.

The communist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez can run but can't hide her utopian schoolgirl fantasies from Al Gore's amazing wayback machine

Green New Deal FAQ

A 10-year plan

A World War 2 scale mobilization

Upgrading all our buildings

Economic security to all who are unable or unwilling to work

We also need to start doing new things (like overhauling whole industries or retrofitting all buildings to be energy efficient)

Upgrading virtually every home and building for energy efficiency

We will finance the investments for the Green New Deal  . . . with public money appropriated by Congress

The Green New Deal will prioritize creating high-quality, family wage-supporting union jobs

A federal jobs guarantee ensures that no worker is left behind

We aren’t sure that we will be able to fully get rid of, for example, emissions from cows or air travel before then

Retrofit every building in America

Make new fossil fuel infrastructure or industries untenable

Rush Limbaugh is a GDP boob, again

Rush Limbaugh can't remember good GDP under Obama for two reasons.

One, he's never read the press releases from the BEA. These are available anytime of day or night, including right now, right on Al Gore's amazing internet, for the whole Obama era, but it's more convenient to ignore them at the time if they occasionally disagree with your broader political point.

Second, Limbaugh doesn't realize that real GDP is a moving target. Real means it's an inflation-adjusted figure, and therefore is constantly updated going back in time to incorporate inflation's effects. Therefore no report of GDP he remembers from the past is worth anything today, except in the context of its time.

Limbaugh also doesn't understand that while GDP is subject to constant revision from month to month for this and other reasons, today's report is the 15th comprehensive revision, which occurs every five years. The last one was in 2013. If you looked at the data before the 2013 revision and compared it after you'd see noteworthy differences in the numbers you may have remembered differently.

Comprehensive revisions incorporate new methodologies and measurements across all the data. Today's data revision does just that going back all the way to 1929. Limbaugh wants you to believe new methods and measures under Obama distorted Obama's numbers uniquely but weren't applied uniformly to all the data, which is a complete falsehood.

Here's the recent history of 4.0 real GDP or better from today's revisions vs. contemporaneous BEA press releases:

2Q2018: 4.1%
3Q2014: 4.9% (5% in third estimate Dec. 2014)
2Q2014: 5.1% (4.6% in third estimate Sept. 2014)
4Q2011: 4.7% (3.0% in third estimate March 2012)
4Q2009: 4.5% (5.6% in third estimate March 2010).

Trump's GDP in the first half of 2018 is comparable to Obama's and Bush's best performances before him. That's a hopeful sign. But Trump supporters like me will have something to really crow about if and when these numbers look like they did in the 1990s, and do it consistently.

So far, they don't.

Orange County Register op-ed calls for Al Gore to be put on the Weinstein list

Seems Al Gore's "irresistible animal magnetism" came up a cropper in three separate incidents in 2006, 2007, and 2008.

John Phillips, here.

Vote the Will's Informed Electorate scam is (now?) owned by a Utah Republican named Brett Payne

A recent commenter noted that there has been a change in the registry information for vote the will dot org, from Arizona to Utah. Whereas previously the Registrant Name was private, now it is Brett Payne of Utah.

There could have been a sale involved, or it could be the same people with a new face and legal identity. The website looks retooled, too. Hard to say which. In any event . . .

A search of public records on Al Gore's amazing internet shows that Brett Payne is indeed a registered Utah Republican, as the commenter stated.

I'm sure this guy is doing nothing illegal.

It's just a slick operation, you know, slick like a snake. Millions of idiots will open their wallets for this guy just for the fleeting experience that someone out there cares about their opinion . . . for twenty bucks.

Do robots have feelings?

This guy must be laughing all the way to the bank!

Trump can still win this thing if his supporters don't lose heart and Americans can be convinced not to vote for the criminal alternative, Hillary Clinton

Consider the consensus of polling controlled by the pro-Democrat, liberal media interests as represented by the Real Clear Politics polling average today.

With just over 2 weeks to go until the election, Clinton is ahead 47.7 to Trump's 41.9 with an average margin of error of 3.46 points. Consider that this was almost exactly how things looked on August 17 when Trump handed over his campaign to Kellyanne Conway & Co. (Trump 41.2 v. Clinton 47.2). One can complain that Trump hasn't made any progress since then, but the same thing can be said about Clinton.

In view of what we know from Wikileaks demonstrating how the media aren't telling the truth and are simply part of the Clinton campaign, the truth is closer to the possibility of Clinton actually losing to Trump 45 to 44 in the popular vote despite the onslaught of character assassination going on against him, which is the only thing Democrats have going for them. That and the Republican traitors of #NeverTrump.

And that's what the daily tracking polls have been telling us, too, all along.

Rasmussen has consistently shown this to be a one or two point brawl for many months, often with Trump ahead. Same with IBD since the beginning of September. And the LA Times poll is virtually unchanged also since August 17 with Clinton +1 then and Trump +0.3 this morning.

As some headlines have suggested, Trump could win the popular vote and end up losing the election like Al Gore.

The reason is the toss-up states, but also the "leaners". Keep in mind that nationally the consensus of the liberal polling establishment has Clinton winning this by 6 points when it could actually be Trump by +1. In the states presently leaning Clinton her average lead is +7.35 but in her five toss-ups just +3.22. Trump's average lead in his leaners is +6.04 and in his toss-ups +3.25.

The race is much closer than the media which overwhelmingly support Clinton want you to believe.

Joe Pags thinks "not in the labor force" does not include the retired, but it does

It's shocking how many people still think, wrongly, that "not in the labor force" includes huge numbers of people who could be or should be working but aren't.

Today on his show Joe Pags said the number not in the labor force, currently over 94 million, does not include retired people, when, for example in 2014 the retired constituted 44% of those "not in the labor force". The truth is the retired always constitute the single largest proportion of those "not in the labor force".

The sick and disabled in 2014 accounted for almost 19%, and people going to school made up another 18% of the total "not in the labor force". Tell me there are some claiming disability who don't have one who should be working, but don't tell me the damn kids should be working. 15.5% were homemakers while 3.5% had other reasons. There's probably many people in these categories who might want a job but can't find one, or ought to be working but aren't, but nothing even remotely close to the almost 39 million retired at the time.

Joe Pags joins a long list of idiots who are quite outspoken in their ignorance about this, including Zero Hedge, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Donald Trump, et alia. Thinking there might be vast numbers of hidden unemployed in "not in the labor force" is just plain lazy stupid.

None of these apparently have had the slightest interest in checking this out on Al Gore's amazing internet using the google machine, which takes you to this page at the Bureau of Labor Statistics with one of the better explanations out there.

I can only conclude the ignorance in the case of Joe Pags is willful because Joe Pags is smarter than that. But then again, he thinks Ted Cruz is a natural born citizen.

His bad.

Donald Trump again brought NFL-level ratings to Republican debate, this time 23 million to CNN, its most-watched program ever

Reported here:

"Wednesday's prime time GOP debate averaged 22.9 million viewers, making it the most-watched program in CNN's history. ... CNN's most-watched program overall was a special "Larry King Live" episode in 1993. The episode featured Al Gore and Ross Perot debating NAFTA and averaged 16.8 million viewers. ... These are NFL-level ratings -- affirming that the Donald Trump fueled Republican debate slate is one of the most popular television shows of the year."

The Anthropocene Follies

Seems some people at Nature want to change the name of the current geological interglacial period now commonly known as the Holocene (the "completely newest period" for you Greek men out there, a very small part of, or the end of the much larger "most recent" Pleistocene and its Ice Ages, depending on who you read) to the Anthropocene (the new human epoch). To some this signifies that if you thought science had long ago killed-off anthropocentrism, you must think again because geology is being pressured to ascribe change to human influence just as has climate science.

The wags here have suggested some amusing alternatives to the Anthropocene:

  • Hubrisocene
  • Windowsocene
  • Googolocene
  • Neocene
  • Hollowscene
  • Hollowcene
  • Misanthropocene (very popular)
  • Stultucene (probably the most anthropologically apt)
  • Epicene (not that there's anything wrong with that)
  • Crimescene
  • Hubriocene
  • Absurdopocene (has a real ring to it)
  • Alarmistocene
  • Nihilicene
  • Anthroporcene (my personal favorite, but should be Anthropoporcene)
  • Bulshitocene
  • Horshitocene
  • Whorshitocene (tmi if you ask me)
  • Algoreopocene (quite)
  • Narcissistocene
  • Narcissene (not to be confused with Nazarene but gets at the religious underpinnings)
  • Narcissicene
  • Climeobscene
  • Preposterousocene
  • Mommymommylookatmeocene
  • Bureaucrocene
  • Anthropobscene
  • Plasticene (for all you Beatles fans)
  • Wherethehelldidiputitcene
  • Mannthropocene (that's inviting a lawsuit I'd say)
  • Sputnikocene (too brief to be measured)
  • Incrediblyobcene
  • Anthropoidiotcene
  • Needtobecene (for the selfie craze)
  • Egocene (nice)
  • Fantacene
  • Herbacene
  • Vulcacene
  • ChickenLittleocene
  • Idiocene.
Perhaps more amusing is how contemporary science still must fall back on a long dead language of the Bronze Age in order to fish out the finest distinctions which only the Greek language can offer. Some animals are indeed more equal than others.

Michael Mann Of Penn State Claimed He "Shared" The Nobel Peace Prize For Almost Five Years

As reported here. And the guy still won't say in the revised bio to whom the Nobel was actually awarded: "jointly" to the IPCC and Al Gore. The IPCC and Al Gore shared the prize, not the IPCC authors, the IPCC and Al Gore.

"He shared the Nobel Peace Prize"
"He contributed to the award of the prize", but to whom exactly?

Ah, to these, exactly.

These Men Shared The Nobel Prize . . .

. . . these men did not:

Al Gore
Michael Mann

Penn State Alumni Newsletter In November 2007 Bragged That Global Warming Promoter Michael Mann Shared In The Nobel Peace Prize Awarded To The IPCC And Al Gore

And worse, the association puts Mann on the same level as a real Nobel winner like Paul Berg who was a named winner who shared the Prize for Chemistry with two others. Michael Mann cannot be said to have shared the Peace Prize with Al Gore and the IPCC, nor can any of the other 2000 members of the IPCC or however many there were be said to have shared it, either. To say this diminishes the achievement of named winners of prizes who may have won them alone or in company with other named individuals.

Seen here:

Five Penn State scientists, all members of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), shared in the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize when the 2,000-member IPCC and former vice president Al Gore were recognized for their work on climate change issues.

The five Penn State scientists and IPCC members are: Richard Alley, Evan Pugh Professor of Geosciences; William Easterling, dean of the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences and professor of geography and earth system science; Klaus Keller, assistant professor of geosciences, Michael Mann, associate professor of meteorology; and Anne Thompson, professor of meteorology.

They join the select company of Paul Berg ’48, the only Penn State alumnus to win a Nobel Prize. Berg, the “father of genetic engineering,” shared the 1980 Nobel Prize for Chemistry with Harvard Professor Walter Gilbert and Cambridge Professor Frederick Sanger. The Nobel committee recognized Berg for his groundbreaking construction of the first recombinant-DNA molecule—a discovery that paved the way for scientists interested in understanding the interactions between the chemical structure of DNA and resultant biological structure, or function, of an organism.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Al Gore can claim to have won the Nobel Peace Prize, and the IPCC can claim to, but none of the individual panel members can claim to have shared in the winning of that prize. Michael Mann did not win the 2007 Nobel Prize for Peace. Mann has had to retract his own claims to the prize as reported here:

Disgraced Penn State University (PSU) climatologist, Michael Mann, concedes defeat in his bogus claims to be a Nobel Peace Prize winner. Mann’s employer this weekend began the shameful task of divesting itself of all inflated claims  on university websites and official documentation that Mann was ever a Peace Prize recipient with Al Gore and the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Thanks to a tip off from respected climate researcher, Dr. Klaus Kaiser, myself and Tom Richard (who scooped the original Nobel story) obtained “before and after” copy images from PSU websites as records of this damning retraction. (follow the link above for the screenshots)

Evidently alumni sites have not been purged.

Al Gore's Latest Loose Screw Safely Removed From The Roadway By WaPo

To think this guy could have been president, or that some think he would have been an improvement over George W. Bush.

Story in The Washington Post, here.

Total Votes Cast In Presidential Elections Since 1968

Figures rounded to the nearest million:

1968.....73 million
1972.....78
1976.....81
1980.....87
1984.....93
1988.....92
1992...104
1996.....96
2000...105
2004...122
2008...131
2012...123.

The biggest "shrug" was in 1996 when Republicans ran me-too liberals Bob Dole and Jack Kemp against the real liberals, Billy Clinton and the Div. School Dropout, AlGore.

The second biggest shrug just occurred, when Republicans again ran me-too liberals, tax collectors for the welfare state who promised to preserve Medicare and keep certain parts of ObamaCare, against the real deal in Obama, who just expanded the welfare state with ObamaCare.

Republicans. They don't call them the stupid party for nothing.

If they had at least run conservatives who lost we could say conservatism lost. But they didn't, and we can't.

Colorado Election Model v. Rasmussen

The latest and last prediction before the election from a state-level economic model by The University of Colorado, here, shows Romney winning in November with 330 electoral college votes to Obama's 208:

The model foresees Romney carrying New Mexico, North Carolina, Virginia, Iowa, New Hampshire, Colorado, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida. Obama is predicted to win Michigan and Nevada.

Rasmussen differs in that he has Obama strongly carrying New Mexico, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania, as of tonight, and Romney strongly polling in none of the states he's supposed to carry according to the Colorado model.

Rasmussen also shows Obama narrowly polling ahead in Wisconsin, Ohio and Nevada.

Assuming those 6 states go for Obama, along with Michigan, that would put North Carolina, Virginia, Iowa, New Hampshire, Colorado, and Florida in Romney's column (narrowly), totaling 267 electoral college votes, just shy of the needed 270 if the rest of Rasmussen's map is correct.

Obama taking Wisconsin and Ohio and Nevada would give Obama 271 to win if the rest of Rasmussen's map is correct.

That result would mirror the year 2000 contest between George W. Bush and Al Gore, only flipped this time favoring the incumbent Democrat Obama.

The Forehead Wishes He Had Gov. Rick Perry's Hair

But that's about it. Oh, except for the ambition.

Story here.

He doesn't mention that as nitwits go, this one made the bright choice to become an organizer for the divinity school dropout, Al Gore, before he became a Republican.
